Knife act dropped

A knife-throwing act has been dropped from a Walsall children’s event after complaints it was in bad taste following the spate of stabbing deaths across the country.

Karen Ross, mother of Rosie Ross who was stabbed to death as she sunbathed in Birmingham in 2001, had branded the star attraction at the Streets Alive event “totally inappropriate”.

Organisers Walsall Council today announced it had decided it would be scrapped.

Councillor Louise Harrison, Walsall Council cabinet member for leisure and culture said: “We have decided to ask the company to replace their show.”

Thousands of fantastic holidays to choose from!
