Wolves will bump into two familiar faces when they kick off their Scottish tour on Sunday – Alex Rae and Colin Cameron.
Rae, who manages Wolves’ first opponents Dundee, has just signed his former Molineux team-mate Cameron on a one-year deal, with a 12-month option after his release from MK Dons.
That means Cameron, who was paraded at half-time during last night’s goalless draw with Aberdeen, is set to make his debut against Mick McCarthy’s side in Sunday’s friendly at Dens Park.
He said: “I’ve always kept in touch with Dundee’s fortunes because of Alex, who I knew so well at Wolves.”
Rae, who scored the goal which took Wolves to the play-off final in 2003, was delighted to be linking up with the former Scottish international.
He said: “From playing alongside him at Wolves, I know he’s a very good player and I know he still has that hunger and desire.
“We were promoted together at Wolves and Colin has just been promoted again at MK Dons. I appreciate we’re getting a player who knows what it’s like when it comes down to the wire at the end of the season.
“He’s fit , he’ll score a lot of goals and the experience he will bring to us, you can’t under-estimate. We have a lot of younger players so Colin’s experience at all levels will be invauable.
“Colin is a winner and he’s not coming here to be second best.”
McCarthy and Rae go back even further, to when the Wolves boss managed the midfielder at Millwall in the early 1990s.
