Saddlers still keen on Cooke

wd2813244jimmy-1-nb-23.jpgWalsall manager Jimmy Mullen insists the door is not closed on trialist Stephen Cooke despite the midfielder missing a chance to impress against Worcester.

The 26-year-old missed the 4-0 pre-season friendly win for “personal reasons,” with other trial players Georges Ba and Patrick Suffo among the goalscorers and impressing at St Georges Lane.

Mullen is keen to stress that Cooke, who he first encountered at Halesowen, will get another chance.

He said: “We have not closed the door on Stephen here.”

There is also good news for new Saddlers first-team coach Jon Schofield, who has completed his UEFA Pro License.

He graduated alongside the likes of Sunderland manager Roy Keane and former Walsall defender Dean Smith, now assistant manager at Leyton Orient.

Schofield said: “It is an important qualifiaction and I’m delighted to have the Pro License under my belt.

“It’s the highest qualification in coaching and I’m already putting the things I’ve learned into practise here.

“The Gaffer also has a Pro License and that can only be good for ourselves and Walsall Football Club.”

Loffing Wolf, we can’t all afford to splash out on big name players…..only to miss out the play off’s…..again, whats it like living in the Baggies shadows?

When you going to be calling for the boss’s head this season? September or October?

As for Walsall, 2 pre season games so far, 3-0 and 4-0 with most of the trailists looking immpressive, lets get them signed up and press on this season. I’ve got every faith in Jimmy!

Seems i’ve touched a nerve…………..Maybe the truth is a touch too painful for our little friends. Still you can always have Gary Breen on a free, he would be a big signing for you as he is an ex international.

Don’t flatter yourself loffin, you ain’t touched a nerve, just made yourself look stupid. This is a filler story about our trialists and our coach getting coaching qualifications…..and all of a sudden you add you snide comment like a typical head in the clouds Wolves fan. Funny that I don’t see you sneering at any WBA or Villa storys, do the bigger boys laugh at you and your orange shirts? Up the Saddlers!

To wolf Freddy Eastwood has gone to a bigger club Coventry of all places what’s that saying about the size of you lot. Your old chairman was so patriotic about being British he lived abroad and you lot sold the club for a tenner.

YATA, look at the Wolves support, the stadium and the inferstructure and a proper training ground and dream you had that. Rather than a hut with an exercise bike and a shower, a mickey mouse ground and a manager who is practically unknown coupled with your pathetic attendances. Need i say any more? Oh and finally, you maybe need to get your facts right first before you even try and take the mickey!

  12. Seaside Saddler said:

Loffin, for your information we have two showers in our training ground so get your facts right. As far as our unknown manager is concerned, lets wait until the end of the season before assessing which of the two managers has done the best job
    with their respective budgetary constraints.

    Loffing Dingle…
You must love going up the custard bowl every week and cheering on the “the stadium” and the “training ground”. As for the support - you’re reknowned for being the quietest fans in the Midlands. As for the “inferstructure”, well that spelling just sums your intelligence.

It sums up how far (ahem) the Wolves have gone when their fans try and take the mick out of us. We’re their biggest rivals now the Albion are out of their league!

    Up the Saddlers!
    Boing Boing!
