Defender Charlie Mulgrew has moved from Wolves to Aberdeen for a fee believed to be around £150,000.
The 22-year-old left-back has penned a two-year deal with the Scottish Premier League outfit.
He becomes the second player to leave Molineux in five days, after the £1.2m departure of Freddy Eastwood to Coventry.
Mulgrew had been expected to stay in England, but turned down a move to League One Swindon in the belief he could secure a better deal for himself.
Southend, where he spent a successful period on loan last season, were keen to take him again but had baulked at Wolves’ asking price.
Chief executive Jez Moxey said: “There have been other clubs interested since he was made available, and we’re pleased to have now reached agreement with Aberdeen.
“It’s a good deal for both Wolves and for Charlie himself. He leaves Molineux with our best wishes.
“He’s at an age where he really needs to be playing regular football, hence his loan move to Southend for the second half of last season, where he helped the team into the League One play-offs.”
Mulgrew, who has also played in midfield, joined Wolves from Celtic in August 2006 as part of the deal which saw Lee Naylor move north of the border for £700,000.
He made his debut in the victory at Leeds a month later, but injury affected his impact.
Slipping to fourth choice left-back following the arrival of Michael Gray then George Elokobi, he enjoyed a successful loan spell at Roots Hall.
Mulgrew made 20 appearances to help the Shrimpers reach the League One play-offs, where they lost in the semi-finals to Doncaster.
He made nine appearances for Wolves, the last of which came in the 3-1 Carling Cup defeat by Morecambe last August.
Moxey added: “Charlie was unfortunate to be affected by some untimely injuries during his first season with us, and after that found it difficult to break back into the first team.”
