Police in swoop on crack den

Police swooped on an alleged drugs den in the Pleck area of Walsall early today.

A team of six Pcs and three PCSOs raided an address in Hawthorne Road, at around 7.30am.

The raid followed a series of complaints to police from residents who were concerned about the number of visitors to the property. One woman was arrested at the scene and is helping police.

Pc Neil Gardiner said: “Information was received from various sources including residents who were extremely annoyed by the comings and goings of visitors and cars going to the property at all times of the day.

“It was very clear to see that it was a crack house because there were various crack pipes, spoons and foil littered on the floor.”
