Wolverhampton’s Grand Theatre today unveiled its glittering autumn and spring programmes containing the famous names of Joe Pasquale, Marc Bannerman and Tony Benn.
New shows announced include Evita, Fame and Buddy, and theatre fans will be able to snap up tickets from Monday.
Grand Theatre spokesman Iain Watkins said: “There’s a magnificent mix of live entertainment at the Grand Theatre this autumn. We are really proud of the line-up because it is so varied and hopefully there is something for everyone.
“Big names enjoy their experience at the Grand and they tend to want to come back. It is a real compliment not just to the theatre but to the city and its people.”
The city centre theatre will host An Audience With Tony Benn on October 2. The veteran politician will be talking about his life in politics and what he thinks of the Labour government.
Absurd Person Singular will run from October 27 to November 1 featuring I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here star Marc Bannerman, Sara Crowe and Matthew Cottle. Alan Ayckbourn’s production is one of the most popular comedies on the West End.
Funnyman Joe Pasquale makes a welcome return on November 17 followed by the English National Ballet’s production of Angelina Ballerina on the 19th and 20th. Well-loved musician Joe Brown performs on November 21.
Spring is the season for musicals with The Elvis Collection, Fame, Evita and Buddy all coming to town.
And of course there is the traditional Christmas pantomime. This year’s spectacular is Peter Pan starring Paul Nicholas and The Krankies and will run from December 6 to January 25.
