A golden giveaway at this year’s Big summer event at Baggeridge Country Park will give youngsters the chance to walk away with some extra special prizes.
All children who attend the day will receive a free goodie bag, but five will get a Golden Bag packed with surprises, sports t-shirts and water bottles.
The all new high ropes course will be among the attractions at the event, which will also feature street dance, bug hunts and tag rugby. It is free for children aged between five and 13 and free coach travel to and from the venue is also available with pick up points across South Staffordshire.
The event, on August 28, is funded by Staffordshire Children’s Fund and is offered to children living in South Staffordshire in the first instance. However, if there are still spaces remaining by July 25 these will be opened out to children living outside the district.
Booking forms are available by calling the Big summer event 24-hour answer phone on 01902 696245 or from any South Staffordshire Leisure Centre.
They can also be picked up from South Staffordshire Council reception and Baggeridge Country Park or you can book on-line at www.sstaffs.gov.uk
Meanwhile South Staffordshire Council has announced the first in a series of summer concerts has been lined up at the park on August 3.
Four-piece electro-acoustic band Remnants will play an electric mix of blues, blues folk and folk roots from 2pm to 4pm.
The concert is free of charge and visitors should bring their own seating as none is provided. Refreshments are available from the onsite cafe or bring your own.
A full list of August concerts is available from Baggeridge Country Park or by calling 01902 696600.
