Albion are all but out of the race for Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson after the England man ruled out a move to the Hawthorns.
A number of clubs are tracking Robinson – including Villa – who looks certain to leave White Hart Lane this summer.
Yet the former Leeds keeper is said to have dismissed the possibilty of joining Tony Mowbray’s side on a season-long loan.
Members of the Robinson camp say the 28-year-old is keen to move on from north London to enhance his prospects of first-team football, after a series of errors for Spurs and England damaged his reputation.
His chances of regaining his first team place under Juande Ramos were further hit when Brazillian Guerelho Gomez signed from PSV Eindhoven last week.
He remains confident he can attract a club without the threat of relegation to the Championship, with Villa’s Martin O’Neill among the managers considering a bid.
Albion are keen to add a third keeper alongside veteran Dean Kiely and the untried Michal Danek.

Fair enough - but we got chris kirkland back into the England squad didn’t we - plus we got Keiron richardson noticed.
Being at a “glamour club” like tottenhan doesn’t seem to have helped him mch does it.. still if he wants a “big” club i’m sure someone will buy him.
I think keily had a great end to the season, and he is back in the international fold too (see, another albion keeper being recognised) so If its him, Danek and 1 other then so be it.
It would appear its not just Wolves fans think your a small club.
At least your teenage ace has agreed a contract!
Im lovin’ it.
Wow what a surprise, did anyone seriously think he would come to us, and did anyone actually want him to come to us??
Paper talk about him coming to us IMHO, as was Carson. We’re obviously after a keeper but those two would require our wage structure to be blown apart and we won’t be doing that this year. Probably upwaht we pay next year if we stay up though.
Bomber, Im sure a few of you did although like your mate Happy you will now say how none of you did anyway.
Reminds me of being at school asking a girl out, she says no so I say how ugly she was anyway.
Thing is I was 10 at the time.

What all of 4 years ago.
You’ve got more chance signing Mrs Robinson, woah woah woah lol
Southern - I would have been very pleased to see him come here - but my point is that just because we are not a “glamour” club, doesn’t mean that players cannot do well.
We have given Kirkland and richardson a chance of international football because they both played regular football with us - which is what Robinson says he wants.
However if he doesn’t fancy it then fine - we have other keepers.
Sandwell - considering your transfer activity i really would keep quiet if i were you.
I would have liked him but hardly a massive blow, we’ve attracted the likes of Kirkland before and there are plent of keepers who can make the grade in the prem. You sorry sorry dingles should spend more time worrying about staving off relegation to league 1. What a sorry record you have against your small neighbours over the last decade! Enjoy the summer hols!
get hennessy he doesnt want to be a dingle he wants to play top flight football hes never gonna do that at wolves, watched danek last night at kidderminster no good worse than kiely gerken from colchester would also be a good signing
2.. you may laugh but that “Teenage ace” is going to be a big big star of the future.
what can you possibly be loving, the only thing I can think of is loving the fact you wont get beat by albion at least once next season!
Bomber.
No, didn’t think he’d come. Yes would have liked him to, he has the potential to be a good keeper although possibly not as good as he thinks.
10 BB.
Agree that Gerken and probably quite a few others in lower divisions might be worth a punt. To be honest, not 100% sure of Hennessy, would prefer Murray.
we could have both henessey and murray i would think both would relish the step up they have suffered enough now
Number 2
That name you use, and the comments you make, are so immature they should come with acne and a pre pubescant squeaky voice.
‘Glamour’ clubs? Don’t you mean successful clubs? Can’t fault the baggie’s ambition though, when on form Robbo is a top keeper and he has not become sh1t overnight. I’m sure he’ll find a successful premier league club (Glamour club) soon enough.
12 The real bully lets just hope we get a good 1 cos the 2 keepers we got now aint sharp enough id also be interested in joe lewis from peterbrough just as understudy at the moment 2 let him get the experience hes had an england call up
I see Freddies nightmare is over. Thats two strikers WW need to fear next season in the CCC. Mind you, they need to fear them all!!LOL
14, Och, yor so unfair.
Im going to my room.
7 - Was that your impression of an ambulance?!
Well done!
I didn’t think it’d happen, and I’ll be honest, I’d have loved him to come, but hey ho, that’s football!
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again Hannemann, Sorenson or Isaakson for me!!
Smug Baggie
Yep… You can have Murray and Hennessey for £10M
Seriously… I have heard a rumour that the baggies are after Paddy Kenny…
I’d prob pay 10m for the pay in todays market, if it wasnt for Murrays fitness record.
We’ll have the whole of woverhampton when the Russian completes his takeover, flatten the place and start again
Again happy baggie knows nothing about football. Wolves have signed a welsh international an england under 21 and a former england under 21 and ex man utd youth captain we buy young talented players for the future of wwfc, your players just leave the minute they startdoing well
Thats not a very nice thing to say Smug…
lets be fair, us wolves have spent pretty well this summer so far. but honestly the only person on the books at the hawthorns that anyone actually wants is the manager.
problem is you need atleast 3 more defenders ( as do we to be fair)and eventhen your relying on the fact your strikers score so often, but theres no garuantee any of them will be able to carry that off to anything like an aceptable standard this season. you do need a rock solid goalkeeper trouble is there arent any about. personally i rate robert green much more than i do robinson.
but there is a good point somewhere in amongst these comments, sandwell isnt exactly a glamour area, lets be honest sadnwell is to the midlands what hammersmith is to london (dont get me wrong, wolves isnt any better) so the fact remains big names wont wanna come to the midlands. ok birmingham and villa might be able to tempt a few since theyre reasonably close to areas like four oaks and sutton. where as the black country has wednesbury. i know who id rather play for.
ofcourse you could always try mad mick in goal? afterall he must be good at something.
I see so far we have signed up an England U21, a czech international, a korean international, a Dutch U21 regular and a scottish U21 - but of course all our players are rubbish cos we play in a slum and are a small club…
p.s - whats that horrible smell ??
I’ve just looked at the last 5 stories on the wolves web pages that can be commented on - and guess how many times laughed at wolf has posted about his beloved club in the last few days…. NONE !! Not one comment from him on ANY wolves story.
This font of all football knowledge has contributed zero to his own team discussions - but will happliy just post the same old rubbish on here day after day about the Albion.
If he is such a fan of wolves - why not try to have a conversation with a wolves fan about his team - or is it that he aint really interested in the football and just use these pages to wind up real fans. What a sad git !!
I don’t care who posts on here, and yes i post on wolves stories - but at least i post here too and can actually discuss my team with other people who know what they are talking about.
Bojangles
From my point of view, it`s good to see you back on here mate.

Bojangles.
Can’t say he’d be my first choice, a bit too stocky but what do I know.
22 - Shadrag, BORED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
20 - Mr Bojangles, where did you hear that little rumour my Orange friend?
his loss, we have always had highly rated keepers, alan miller, nigel spink, russell hoult, dean kiely, chris kirkland, tomasz kuiscak and hopefully danek will join the ranks of greats in the last decade, and no one can deny this
it’s just great, logging on every evening to read the E&S, reading all the comments from the dingles giving us all there support and words of wisdom. I do wish i supported a bigger club like WWFC and then i could watch them failing every year in the CCC and shouting to sack the manager every week, moaning about their super stars. Oh well, i’ll just have to make do supporting a little club in the biggest league in the world, play some quality football and just have to put up with a great manager like TM finding the unknowns and turning them into stars. Boing Boing.
22.
Wow.
“we buy young talented players for the future of wwfc, your players just leave the minute they start doing well”
what like Freddie Eastwood…
TOMO rrow is BRIGHT
Robinson is good PR for under fire chairman jeremy
Peace, Has he pulls the heart of the west brom side

36 Steven.
You say you’re a Baggies fan therefore I have to believe you but if you think the club is being badly run and worthy of your constant sniping, it’s a good job you weren’t around at times during the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. A little success seems to have gone to some people’s heads.
No.36 JP is only under fire from such as yourself. The vast majority of REAL Albion fans know what a brilliant job he’s doing. We have a fine manager, a Championship winning team, FA Cup semi-finalists, a growing youth set up, money to buy players and stability. We shall never be able to attract Londoners such as Robinson, they see the Midlands as a backwater. It’s fair to say Robinson would never have got into the England team if he’d started with Albion or Wolves, he’s not THAT good. Arsenal and Spurs almost guarantee a cap. It would interesting to know just how long you’ve had your season ticket. Or are you just naturally unhappy by nature?
