A revamped gym has been unveiled at Halesowen leisure centre.
The gym has been given a £275,000 makeover and now features the latest cardiovascular equipment and weights machines.
Councillors joined gym users to declare the new fitness suite open. It is the second new-look gym to open at a borough leisure centre recently after Dudley leisure centre underwent a half a million pound revamp.
Qualified fitness staff were on hand at the opening to show off equipment and give a demonstration of the gym’s special data keys, which allow members to follow their own workout programme and record their progress.
Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for the environment and culture, said: “I am delighted that we are making so many improvements across the council’s three leisure centres.
“It was an honour to officially open Halesowen Leisure Centre’s new gym. I know the local community will be delighted to have access to such fantastic facilities.”
The new facilities are part of a wider £1.4million improvement programme of leisure centres in the borough. At Dudley leisure centre the gym has received a major overhaul which includes doubling its size.
There is also a replacement reception area.
