Former Wolves favourite Robbie Dennison launched the 20th anniversary of the club’s Wembley Sherpa Van Trophy charity dinner celebrations – with an appeal for two ex-team-mates to come forward.
Dennison and fellow goalscorer in the final, Andy Mutch are confirmed to attend.
Steve Bull, Keith Downing, Andy Thompson and Jon Purdie will also be on hand at the ‘Out of The Darkness – The Sherpa Van Lads Dinner’, at Molineux’s Jack Hayward Suite on September 25 (7pm).
But early efforts to track down defenders Floyd Streete and Gary Bellamy have so far proved fruitless.
Dennison said: “It doesn’t seem like 20 years ago but it will be nice to get everyone together to talk about old times.
“But there’s a couple of them – Floyd Streete and maybe Gary Bellamy - whose whereabouts we’re not sure of.”
Streete is thought to be living in Bermuda and Bellamy in Essex, where he finished his career. The event will raise funds for Compton Hospice and High Arcal School.
It will also host a tribute to the Wolves goalkeeper who played in the final, Mark Kendall, who died earlier this year.
Anyone interested in the dinner should call 08456 800906, e-mail sales@underthepostsltd.co.uk or contact Under the Posts Ltd, 37 Beech Drive, Shifnal.

My son went to the Molinueux ground yesterday and had his photograph taken with Robbie Dennison along with two other boys from the High Arcal School in Sedgley. I was upset to find that the photograph in todays paper shows only one of the boys, even though a number of photographs were taken of all three. Could you please let me know whether there is any way I can get hold of these photographs. Thanking you.
Can anyone confirm any recent sightings of Floyd? Anyone been on holiday to Bermuda lately?… lol
Boy that was a massive acheivement for such a small poxy club!!
20 years ago. It seems like only yesterday. Although they were bleak days for the club I do look back and feel football isn’t what it was then.
To much money in the game now.
Floyd Street!!! He was a collosus. What a man please track him down.
20 years ago, can’t believe it. 53,000 Wolfies at Wembley, it was a wonderful day, so many happy memories.
Ahh, those were the days! Had a car wreck on the way down… bumped into some Burnley fans, literally…but it was a great day out all the same.
Ohhh, Robbie Robbie…
Simon
14 YR OLD KID I WAS AND WAT A DAY THAT WAS.
IT NEEDS TO BE A CUP FINAL NOW THOUGH..
OUT OF DARKNESS COMETH LIGHT…
53, 000 fans dont support a small poxy club 3
4. Yes when you have done nothing of note in the past 50 years, winning the Sherpa Van/Mickey Mouse cup does seem to have been only yesterday.
53,000 Dingles? Must have been care in the community day off.
Looking down on you Wulfies from a great height.
BOING BOING THE MOWBRAY WAY - IN STYLE AND IN THE PREMIERSHIP.
Simon - and its been a car wreck every season since !!
Floyd streete he was a rock at the back…..BRUNO BRUNO BRUNO BRUNO BRUNO BRUNO BRUNO BRUNO
BRUNO! BRUNO BRUNO!
With the squad Mad Mick has assembled and disassembled over the past few seasons, it will be another 20 years before you win anything again ! Sorry I don’t remember it appearing in the Hotten Courier sooooo long ago ? Zac, or Shadrack must have used it to light a fire ?
The injury list has started to grow before a ball has been passed, even in a friendly ! Dark clouds are gathering over the custard bowl. Not long now to wait to see Mad Mick with his P45 pop back up North for the Winter.
IT’S BOSTIN BEING A BAGGIE !!!
No three how pathetic you are! We are reflecting back to a happy day when the tide was turned after an awful time. If you have to try to make pathetic little points about something like this, then it shows how depressing the more petty supporters of both Black Country clubs have become. Get a life and leave the somments to genuine football fans.
3. Once again constructive from a baggie (sarcasm)…if u haven’t got anything decent to say dont post!
its funny how when you go on about your history you never mention this great achievment aye boing boing
Oh, to be 14 again. I’ve still got an album full of photographs taken of the open top bus victory parade somewhere.
1988… the year of Wolves winning a cup and Kylie Minogue’s “I Should Be So Lucky”. I point that connection out quite deliberately.
1988… how much was the bus fare then? Something tells me that you could get the 79 bus all the way to Birmingham for 20p. A feature like that might be quite a cool Express & Star tie-in feature.
i wonder wot they talked about, hey robbie remember the 1st round when we beat halifax in front of 254 fans aye boing boing
1,mrs conk, why wornt they at school aye boing boing
Floyd Streete, in his day, easily good enough for what we so badly needed at the back last season.
Salute the gentleman, indeed.
He could have picked Kevin Phillips up by his ears and still continued playing.
3, 53,000 Wolves fans at Wembley and we won! Something the Albion have never or will EVER do.
Poxy?? I dont think so.
BRUNO BRUNO
3 - notice the way you dont mention your team? anyway when was the last time albion won a trophy worth talking about?
23 - err….. try the league championship this year - or didn’t you realise you get a trophy for winning the league ?
what a MUG !!
22 - yes we won plenty at the old wembley (FA cUp blah blah) - you are obviously thinking of the NEW wembley - you know, that place you have never been to !!
Still - who needs wembley when you can go to doncaster !!
There is a story on the wolves site with the headline “Goalie Ikeme’s backing from boss”.
In that story MM says that Ilkeme wouldn’t be playing if it was a proper match (I.E he’s only playing as its a meaningless friendly).
Now thats the sort of backing you can do without - but well done E&D for another unbiased headline..
Yes bully was always a hero of mine but how very embarassing that at this exciting time of the season all you can talk about is the silly nonesense cup you won a couple of decades ago.
I salute your neighbours for winning the championship title with flair and style, but you lot I`m afraid are destined never to play in the prem again.
Wolves ay we……….hmmmm let me think about your question.
Please sir would it be the championship trophy in season 2007-8?
You were teasing sir weren`t you, bet you knew that really x
Wolves have a bigger history than Albion so why come on here and pretend your a bigger club. We call you SANDWELL TOWN for a reason.
22-when was the last time you won at wembley? er 1968!did you not go in ?1970 and lose! since then we have been there 3 times and “won”.
1988 was the year I got married…but never mind, going to wembley made up for it! By the way, let the poor tesco’s have a bit of fun. It’s only a few weeks until Arsenal set about ‘em! With that defence! Ha Ha! It’s gonna be great. Lets be honest, wheres sandwell’s ambition? I’ve spent more than them this summer!
Mrs C Monk - the picture of the 3 of them is on the Wolves website, under Anniversary dinner.
No.22 Sandwell massive??
You’re not very bright are you? I think you’ll find if you research into the statement you have just made about albion, you’ll find it is complete rubbish!!! Get you’re facts right before posting, it just makes you look stupid! Typical dingle, just jealous of what we are acheiveing at the moment!
Of course we were fourth division then and by the same token as McLean - £7.5 million for Andy Mutch and £12 million for Bully based on like for like valuations!
What a day that was at the old Wembley with Bully throwing himself at everything in the last 15 minutes to get on the scoresheet!
Six inane comments by Baggies. Have you got nothing better to do than comment on another clubs achievements? Get a life and comment on your own stunning transfer activity.
3. Wolves will always be a BIGGER & BETTER club than the Baggies.. If we were bottom of League 2 we would still be BIGGER & BETTER club. Check your honours list spanner!!
Great day at Wembley!! More there on the day than was at the FA cup game earlier on!!
I seem to remember the boggies being in a similar cup some years ago, THE ZENITH DATA SYSTEMS CUP it was, ooh now what was the score that got them unceremoniously dumped out of the cup, ah yes FIVE NIL to Derby and Dean Saunders scored all five !!! boRing boRing ! easy 3 pointer for the gooners on the opening day next season see ya next season losers, its bostin bein a boggie ay it, naaaa not really… up the wolves.
BAGGIE FAN-SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR KEEPER. TOMMO A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE.GOOD LUCK 4 THE SEASON.
I still have my ticket stub from that great day. Great memories of an awesome day in Wolves history. Plus now we have ex Wolves man Rohan Ricketts playing for Toronto FC. I was at the game a few weeks ago. When he banged two in against Colorado. He may be a new signing but he’s a fan favourite already.
what a day out my dad took me there for my birthday one day will be back there come on the wolves
37. We all hope he becomes a legend at fulham! No one can take away the winning goal he scored v you scum last season!!!! GERA GERA GERA….
20 yrs so what it’s ‘the joke’ cup of the whole of the leagues!!!!! WELL DONE.
Typical Dingles, living off your history as usual.
It doesn’t matter who has won what, what matters is where the 2 clubs are NOW, and where they’re heading.
We are approaching our 4th season of Premiership football this decade. We have one of the brightest young managers in England, and a style that has many pundits tipping us to survive comfortably.
You are, once again, approaching another season in the Fizzy Pop league. You have a manager that 75% of your fans dislike! Yolu have a squad which is filled with Irish or ex Sunderland journeymen, who 50% of your fans dislike!
You were a big club. In fact, you were a MASSIVE club. But that was in theb past. The old giant of Wulferampton Wanderers is dead.
There is a power shift in Midlands football, and I believe ourselves and Villa will be the monopoly of the Midlands for many years to come.
We’re leaving you behind, FOREVER. Bring on the Villa, a real rival that will actually test us. It gets boring beating you all the time, you see.
Boing Boing
This was an article celebrating a great day following a bleak time in our history. You sad Baggies use this to try and have yet another meaningless pop at us. I am all for banter when the the season starts but this just pathetic. You really are very, very sad.
Come on malvern - lighten up.
In the same way the wolves fans talk about us losing at wembley and about wolves being a “bigger club” - we love the fact that you won this trophy, and we love even more the fact that you are still celebrating winning it.
Surely thats just banter ? (or does that only apply to wolves fans) !
Totally agree with you Malvern.
I couldn’t have put it better myself, yes it is VERY, VERY SAD.
Happy - lighten up?
I’ve seen you practically have a nervous breakdown at the word “scum” but I suppose as it’s one of your own using it, then it becomes acceptable?
46 - eh ??
what has the word scum got to do with me laughing at this story ?
I do abhore the word scum when used just to describe someone who supports a different football team - whoever uses it - so if a fellow baggie has done that then i apologise to you.
Oh - and read post 36 for an example of the enlightened comments WE put up with on a regular basis.
So thick he makes my teeth itch !
LOL looks like we’ve touched a nerve or two!
Listen Dingles, you come on our pages criticising our lack of ambition, our transfer dealings, our players, our chairman, our manager etc etc. If you can’t take the banter then don’t dish it out!
Happy and Terry and others.
You are entitled to your opinion and clearly the way you look at football is that it only really matters if you win trophies at the top end. People have got happy memories of this and why shouldn’t they or do you feel that football is only worth talking about at the top? If that’s your opinion fair enough, but Happy in particular you talk about the sad state our game is in, with the top division stretching the gap and it is the attitude that clubs shouldn’t be proud of winning such trophies which allows the gap to continue to exist. Say what you like, it won’t take away the happy memories, football’s about more than just winning the top trophies, it’s about the enjoyment of watching your team at any level, something which is wasted on some people. Oh Robbie Robbie…This was the era I grew up on, due to my age, happy memories.
Realist - no I agree that every trophy is valuable… and we all support our teams through thick and thin….I am only laughing because of the constant “we’re bigger than you” jibes that wolves fans always post.
Its only funny because you think you are Real Madrid - yet this is your reality.
Point taken, but do you not think that may be a bit of a generalisation.
42-is that why Paul Robinson does,nt want to join you-BECAUSE HE DOES’NT WANT TO JOIN A CLUB THAT COULD WELL BE PLAYING CHAMPIONSHIP FOOTBALL NEXT SEASON,and has for moanbury, treats his star players like dirt and contempt re: “super kev”.
say’s it all eh!
And happy we could be playing in the w’ton sunday league and still be bigger than the crappies.
frobo-no- more the one 88 years ago, I bet 2096 can’t come fast enough eh.
johnwolf another moronic non-sensical dingle post, you lot really must have the biggest percentage of idiot fans in the whole country thats why your the most hated club in the midlands! theres nothing wrong with you celebrating winning the rusty, bank robbers favourite mode of transport vans trophy but what have you won since a playoff and one season in the prem! what have we won oh yes two promotions one league title and 5 seasons in the prem all on our own without the help of a golden tit, i think your sleeping giant or should i say relic of a football club would be far better suited to the local sunday league especially as you were quite close to it in those happy days of the mid to late eighties!
Email me and I will give you the information you need on contacting Floyd Streete.
