Sidwell to join Villa shortly

sidsrewvyi.jpgVilla will complete the signing of midfielder Steve Sidwell in the next 24 hours after they agreed a deal to take him from Chelsea.

The club confirmed in a statement that they have concluded a deal and the former England under-21 international will sign, subject to a medical.

The signing, which is expected to cost Villa around £5.5m, will be manager Martin O’Neill’s first of the summer and could help soften the blow, if and
when Gareth Barry completes his transfer to Liverpool.

Hey up Beeston, how am ya bud?

I think Barry going for £12+ million and Sidwell coming in for half of that, is a great bit of business personally.

I hate to say it but Young, Reo-Coker and Sidwell are the base of a very good, young, talented midfield.

Still not as good as Brunt, Greening, Koren and Tex though!! ;-)
