Walsall new boy Jabo Ibehre is hoping his “total life change” will help him hit the goal trail at the Banks’s Stadium.
The 25-year-old Londoner has quit the capital for the first time in his life to join the Saddlers.
The former Leyton Orient forward hopes his fresh start will help him flourish.
He said: “I’d been at Orient since I was 12 and I really enjoyed my time there. I have lived in London all my life.
“I am a north London boy, from Islington, and an Arsenal fan. The area has produced a lot of good footballers.
“When my contract was up at Orient I was given a free and I was pleased to join Walsall.
“This is a whole life change for me, from being at Leyton Orient and living in London to signing for Walsall and moving to Birmingham.
“This is a new club for me and a new start in brand new surroundings and I’m loving every minute of it.”
Ibehre became the second of four new signings in a matter of days last week when he agreed the switch from Brisbane Road on a one-year contract.
He followed Doncaster central defender Stephen Roberts into the club and was followed soon after by Dwayne Mattis from Barnsley and Swindon
midfielder Sofiane Zaaboub.
Manager Jimmy Mullen is now on the lookout for extra firepower to compete with Ibehre and youngsters Troy Deeney and Alex Nicholls for places in attack.
