Mullen hunting a trio of signings

wd2813244jimmy-1-nb-23.jpgWalsall manager Jimmy Mullen is targeting at least three more signings before the new season – including a key goalscorer.

Mullen also wants two more midfielders before he begins his first campaign at the helm.

The new Saddlers boss has made rapid recent progress in his bid to rebuild his squad with four new faces in the last fortnight.

But he admitted today he is still at least three men short as he targets an improvement on last season’s mid-table finish under former manager Richard Money.

“I still think we need at least three more players,” said Mullen, who took charge at the end of last season following Money’s departure.

“I still believe we need a little bit more firepower up front and we are looking at our options up there at the moment.

“We have competition now wide on the left with Ishmel Demontagnac here and Sofiane Zaaboub, who came in last week.

“But I still think we probably need an extra option for the wide right position and that is something that we are also looking at.

“As well as that we would like to bring somebody else into the midfield.

“I think we probably still need a playmaker and we will keep looking at our options.”

Mullen’s squad, which looked threadbare following a mass clearout at the end of last season, received several timely boosts last week with a string of new faces.”

Encouraging that we are still looking for a goal scorer and a creative midfielder but anyone any good would cost money and we all know where that conversation will end!!

Enter STM to do his trialing best.

Heard they were looking at Byfield yet again. we already have a proven goalscorer, 7 in a season os proven (to be waste of a signing on fee)

What a load of rubbish paddymo. Can you imagine the wage he’d demand from us. I’m sorry, but I wouldn’t want to watch his lazy backside for 90 mins. Ricketts was the same. Did his bit, and then moved on. Over paid and over rated.

JM go and have a peep at Manny Williams,he plays for Woking,Conference South.Possible he could do a job for you, scored 30 plus goals last season.I saw plenty of him last season, not a big lad,he’s quick, skillful and brave. With full time training, you never know.
