Stafford Rangers manager Steve Bull is likely to offer terms to three trialists as he prepares to announce his squad list on Thursday.
The unnamed trio consists of two centre backs and a winger, who will make up the 18-man squad which Bull plans to use for the season.
The odd dip into the loan market, in which Bull would be likely to utilise his extensive array of contacts, has not been ruled out either.
He said: “Ideally I would like a bigger squad but I have a budget to manage so we shall work with 18 players.
“I am pleased with what we have got. Come August we will have 18 fit players who want to play for Stafford Rangers.
“We will be offering terms to three players this week. At this time I cannot tell you who they are until the deal is done.
“I would have liked to offer all of the trialists terms but I have to work with what we can manage.
“18 is a big enough squad for what we need to do this season. It is more about the quality we have got than the quanity.
“I would rather have 18 good players than 25 mediocre players.”
