£90k bingo joy for pair

Two bingo players are celebrating after winning a combined total of nearly £90,000 at the same Black Country club in the space of a week.

A 21-year-old trainee accountant won £16,000 after playing the game for just the third time at the Mecca Club in Brierley Hill. And a 45-year-old father-of-two who plays twice a week with his wife walked away with £67,420. 

He said: “Our two grown up children will be looked after first then we will invest the rest and use the interest for such things as holidays.”

Just four days after his win on June 22 Lady Luck returned to the club when the 21-year-old woman shared the national prize of £30,534 with another winner in Torquay.

Operations manager Gez Marron said: “We are certainly on a winning streak at present.”
