A mixture of new building and regeneration is planned for the city.

A technology park is planned next to the M54, creating 6,000 jobs.

An overhaul of the bus and train station and a new link for the Metro are also in the pipeline.

Technology park creating 6,000 jobs? Hmm..heard this kind of talk before. More like 5,900 ‘menial’ positions created by sweatshop owners exploiting the New Deal scheme. To be honest I doubt that yet another scheme like this would attract significant numbers to Wolvo..a lot of people simply emigrating to cleaner, cheaper, safer and more spacious places. Same for a lot of other towns and cities in the Midlands.

Oh, and if the powers that be think people are going to wait until 2031 I think they are sorely mistaken. Too little, too late in my opinion, especially considering the deplorable level of investment in recent years..it’ll take a lot more than this to convince people to stay here.

As my job will be affected by the proposed Summer Row developement I wish that the City council or whoever is in charge of this fiasco would come clean about whether or not it is happening. I for one am sick of reading conflicting reports about Summer Row.
Please come clean Council or I may become just another burden on the system

    Wolverhampton Development Company?

Sounds like another unelected government quango to me.

If all of these plans happen on time and on budget then I’ll give them some credit.

If they’re late, over budget or worse still, don’t ever happen then will anybody remember?

With all these planned ‘changes’ to wolverhampton that have come up over the last few years, and the state of the ring road, why not flatten the city and start again, as it seems everything is going to get changed.

Jesus, what a pointless thing to say. How does W’ton stand a chance with miserable people like this. There’s a massive gap between the economic productivity in the Black Country and the rest of the country and schemes like this need to be supported
