Sylvan: Wolves in great shape

ebanksblake2.jpgStriker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake believes that Wolves’ players have reported back for the start of pre-season in tip-top condition.

The Championship’s Golden Boot winner joined his team-mates at Compton today as the squad began preparations for next season.

Ebanks-Blake was one of 10 players who reported back for a series of tests on Thursday, with another 10 players undertaking similar assessment the following day.

The 23-goal hitman believes Daley’s programmes for each player have been adhered to.

He said: “I feel very good. We’ve had strict programmes through pre-season so the boys have come back fit.”

Good news, we just need Berra & another striker to join! We’ll be top tip for the Coca Cola Championship then.

Why dont we go for frazer campbell from man utd he did a great job for hull last year.We might be able to get him on loan or for about 4-5 million i would say he isa better option that mclean from peterborough,at least he has proved he can perform in this division

  7. BigBadWolf said:

Spot on Spanish! High energy attacking as you say, need a better quicker defence to go with it than last time! We may yet get it!

Still one to two defenders short - need one for cover. Definitely a solid midfielder short - an experienced head required. I’m not fully convinced with the strikers we have, SEB is very good, Keogh will be a good support striker, hopefully vokes and Ward can do a job. Hopefully keep Jarvis and Kites fit for most of the season because I’m not convinced that we have cover fo reither of them. Also hoping that MM doesn’t always play 4-4-2, with our short strikers I’d like to see 3-5-2 tried on occasion so that we provide them with support up front. Last season we had to be defensive because of our slow and accident prone back four. Hopefully MM will be brave enough to attack this season - lets rip into plymouth for starters…

have to agree with you Jonathan,

frazer campbell would be great at wolves with seb!!! we are supposed to have money to spend, lets stop spending 1 million on lots of players, and buy some quality!

still think we need some experience on the field..

7TH PLACE AGAIN NEXT SEASON..WOULDN’T BET AGAINST IT..OOHH STEPHEN WARDS BACK..MAKE THAT 8TH THEN.

Reports are that Christophe Berra will be joining Wolves this week, Hearts have allegedly accepted an improved bid for around £2m plus add-ons. Therefore a better, quicker defence should be what we will have!! With a back four of Foley, Stearman, Berra and Elokobi (with Craddock, Little and D Jones as back-up) I think we should see a marked improvement in that department.

south bank - why dont you just be postive and give the club your backing at the end of the day MM is the manager whether we like it or not so why dont we just back him and give him a chance to be honest i think hes made some good signings and stil rekon he will add 2 or 3 more lets just be positive and then see what happens. Up the wolves!!!!

  16. nige wolf said:

oh, and by the way sbba, berra WILL be a wolves player by friday, YOU NEED TO GET TO KNOW 1 OR 2 PEOPLE THAT WORK AT WOLVES AND KNOW STUFF, IT HELPS!

Re 12 - can you give me an idea why you sit on the South Bank at Molineux? Surely the Steve Bull Lower is where the opposition fans sit.

If you have a look on NewsNow you will see the reports I am referring to. I didn’t say it was confirmed, all I said was it is being strongly reported.

It’s ’supporters’ like you that all the real Wolves fans want rid of. Why don’t you put up or shut up? there’s a team down the road who play in stripes - apparently they could do with a few more fans when you look at their attendance. You would be perfect for each other.

Or alternatively, you could just finish the last few years of your secondary education and then get a job that hopefully doesn’t allow you to post on this website like your school computer currently does.

Still need midfielders, i can’t believe how many people are asking for more defenders and strikers. We had one of the best defences in the division last season but hardly created a chance i’ll say it again the squad isn’t that bad without any new additions but we are desperate for a quality central midfielder thats all.

“Wolves will be back in to tie up the £2million signing of Hearts defender Christophe Berra this week.”
As for SouthBank, probably the only time he’s sat in there was the fa cup tie against sandwell
