Sylvan Ebanks-Blake believes that Wolves’ ‘young and hungry’ policy is a winning formula for success.
The £1.5m striker repaid the faith of boss Mick McCarthy when he won the Championship’s Golden Boot last season with 23 goals.
He is one of 16 players under 24 bought in by McCarthy, a tally swollen this summer by new arrivals Sam Vokes, aged 18, 20-year-old Richard Stearman and David Jones, 23.
Ebanks-Blake is convinced the policy is a recipe for success.
He said: “I think the hunger will bind us together because we are all young and hungry and want to play at the next level.
“A lot of us haven’t played at that level and I think that hunger will drive us on.
“The manager enjoys bringing in fresh, young hungry players and I think it’s a winning formula.”
Along with Ebanks-Blake, McCarthy has signed fellow 22-year-olds George Elokobi, Michael Kightly, Matt Jarvis, David Edwards, Andy Keogh, Stephen Ward.
Kevin Foley, Darren Potter and Jones are 23 – the same age as Karl Henry when he signed.
Freddy Eastwood and Stephen Elliott are both 24, while of those bought in, only Jones has played in the Premier League.
Ebanks-Blake believes that craving for the top flight will drive the team on this season.
He said: “Although we’re a young squad, a lot of players have played quite a few League games between us so it’s not as if we’re coming in off the back of 10 League games.
“A lot of the young players have played two or three seasons in this league and they have a lot of experience from the more senior lads.
“It’s not a case of we’re a group of players who have been there and done it – it’s a winning formula because we all want to reach the same target.”

IF WE CAN GET BERRA IN THAT WUD BE A GREAT DEAL FOR US THEN ANOTHER STRIKER FRAZER CAMPBELL WOULD BE QUALITY BUT I REKON HE WILL PLAYING PREM FOOTBALL, WOULDNT MIND US TAKING A GAMBLE ON THE LAD FROM STOCKPORT DICKINSON ONLY COST ABOUT 500K AND THEN GET A GOOD SOLID MIDFIELDER BEN WATSON OR BRIAN HOWARD AND I THINK WE WOULD BE FLYING!!!!
MM will bring the golden years back to wolves, i for one have never doubted him and think he has been our best manager since the Turner era…
His eye for young talent is 2nd none and our young hungry boys will deliver what we all so desperatly want……GLORY
Sick of hearing young and hungry. Produce a team and that is a combination of youth and experience and play together it makes no difference whether they are young or old. This propaganda rubbish surely doesn’t brain wash everybody or does it?
Keep him as a scout but not a manager.
Well it seems if you can`t beat `em join `em. We are at last adopting the policy of the baggies - quality youth.
Sadly we don`t have a genius in charge like they do. MM must go, I said it all last year and I`ll say it again
2) I’ll have a pint of whatever you’re having.
MM will bring nothing but false promises, idiotic statements on a regular basis and strange team selections and tactics. Prepare to be dissapointed again
Thanks Southbank - but he isnt going so just get behind him and the lads.
He has continued making some good signings, and hopefully a few more to follow. Cant wait for August!
I dont care how only the team is as long as they win!!!
i dont care how old the team is as long as they win!
Re 6 - thankyou, but I will carry on being positive until I have reason to be negative. If we get to October or November and things aren’t going right then I’ll reassess my opinion at that point. However, I see no sense in being so pessimistic even before a ball has been kicked. If MM gets it wrong then you can come back to me and more-or-less everyone else and tell us how you told us so - if, however, we are sitting pretty at the top of the league, will you be prepared to publicly admit that you were wrong? Takes a big man to admit his mistakes.
cant wait for the season bring it on!!!

MESSAGE TO EVERYONE…….there will be times in the season where we will go through a bad patch we MUST ALL STICK TOGETHER.This could be a very execting year and we need everyone pulling in the same direction. The molineux should be a fortress not a place where the opposition manager says lets frustrate the crowd for a hour and hit then on the break. We can be the twelth man so calling all you loyal and super supporters lets get right behind mick and the lads and promotion can be achieved!!!!!we are wolves
I think to even have a chance this season we need to bring in another top striker because if SEB gets injured who else can score for us.
Hope Matt Murray is fit along with Wayne Hennersey.
Defence, bring in Berra then were sorted.
Midfeild, sorted
Strikers, as said another quality striker needed.
Otherwise come on the Wolves.
Well said no 11 if only we could shut the muppets up that only want to phew doom and gloom, sbba and wolveswolves, are an embarasment to desent Wolves supporters.
are those empty seats i see behind him aye boing boing
JOEHOWL you are deluded mate. Sorry but you honestly think MM is good enough tactically in the prem? He has bought some good players but perserved with playing some of the crap he has too. Dave Jones was our best manager for years probably going back to McGarry.

We’ve got more strikers on the books than you can shake a stick at! And we won’t have a reserve team this season either.
Trouble is, nobody else wants those we’re trying to get rid of! They were all bought by Mad Mick and that should show the happy-clappers the value of MM’s player judgement!
So much for our own academy youngsters. They are obviously going to have to go out on loan, or be sold on. Unforgivable!
Southbank barmy army. In the words of Mr Morgan.
Sod off and tare apart some other club. You will not be allowed to tare apart this one”.
As far as I am concerned, last season is over, we have kept the consistency of a management team. The players respect them all. We have some good fresh faces and a great youth policy which we have had sinse the days of Grahma Taylor.
Please go and tare apart the boggies if they are so great.
The players the managers,Morgan, Billy Wright stand, Steve Bull Stand and North bank are right behind the team, regardless of the opinions of MIck. Time to grow up and support or ship out.
18,
Here here SBBA is a pain.
Sure not a Wolves fan, must be from the dark side down in Sandwell.
This aint coming from a ‘Happy Clapper’ either!!!!
