MP Tom Harris says “Britons are so bloody miserable”. Britons are far from being miserable, but they ought to be! For what these so-called MPs have done across them over the past 50 or more years.
He says we have more money now than ever. We damn well need more money than ever. These dimwits of MPs think throwing money at everything will solve the problems, it just does not work like that. Money is not everything.
This was a very happy and loyal nation in the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s unfortunately discipline went when the Nanny State lobby got into power, causing the decline in education, law and order, police, armed forces, everything you can mention.
They encouraged people to take out private pensions ‘AVC’ for later in life.
Unfortunately for the country, Labour got in power and Gordon Brown thieved £78 billion of it, then had the nerve to say there was a black hole in the funds, and he is still thieving it. That’s besides selling the country’s gold reserves off.
They have allowed millions upon millions of immigrants into the country, and we might as well face the facts as hide them. They have forced the EU and now the Lisbon Treaty on we, without a vote because they know the vote would be ‘no’. Industry and the tradesmen are all but gone, and still going or getting out of the country while they can.
They are trying to stop the working man from having a cigarette if he wishes and now even a pint of beer. If you can call it beer. They have never given the British any encouragement or praise as long as I can remember. Never. Yet I know them for what they are, damn good workers, if not the best in the world. They have to work a lot more hours than most and certainly a lot more than MPs.
They have treated this most worthy nation, with nothing but treachery and contempt. I believe these MP’s should be stripped of their assets and certainly their pensions for what they have done to this country and it’s people.
Mr Paul Kent, Bloxwich, Walsall.

We voted for them, so the electorate is to blame.
If you don’t like what MPs do, join a political party and get yourself elected. I’d love to see you turning down your allowance, and voting against a pay rise for yourself.
Well said Paul Kent.. What was once the leading nation in the world has been sold out to the lowest bidder by Blairs government, capably follkowed by the useless Brown and his band of hangers on.. In time there will be no tax payers to fund these immigrants, and what will they do then, as rats do, leave a sinking ship.. I left the uk 5 years ago, and like many ex pats have no intention of returning whilst these pillocks are in charge.. Come back Guy Fawkes, all is forgiven
I have only this to say,Mr P Kent of Bloxwich, you have put into words, what the millions of us can only say, but not write down, I salute your excellent letter, Labour MP’s read his letter and digest.
Absolutely spot on Mr Kent, As for your comment Rebecca NO one voted for Gordon Brown he is a freeloading waste of space that happens to have inherited the job from another waste of space, problem is the amount MPs spend on themselves leaves nothing for the good people of this country or their families , We are now a European joke thanks to labour.
What do you mean, no-one vioted for Gordon Brown?
He was voted in by the current party rules - same as any other leader.
Last I looked, in this country the public get to vote on who represents their area, not on who will be the PM.
As for those who want to leave or who have left already, they will be immigrants elsewhere.
The problem isn’t immigrants, the problem is too many people not bothering to vote then getting annoyed about who ends up in parliament!
Splendid Daily Mail rant!
OK so we all hate the labour party ,But whats left for us to vote for? Can anyone answer?
If you can get a bunch of mates, join your local party (or create a new one) and then with your over-riding majority decide who will be a candidate at the next election.
Then start campaigning.
Its only sitting MPs who have to wait to start campaigning. If everyone hates the Labour party and you think your choice of candidate can do better, run them.
Just don’t expect everyone else to avoid the idea - you might find yourself up against better organised groups.
WHO NEEDS MPS NOW WE ARE IN EUROPE WHO HAVE THEIR OWN MPS
Last I looked, Europe doesn’t decide all that much for us.
Still enough decisions in Parliament to keep MPs busy.
Oh well, if you’d rather all decisions were made by MEPs instead……?
Martin davies sounds to me like hes a fan of the Blair/Brown regime, possibly someone who gets a good handout off the state from genuine tax payers.. I may be an immigrant some where else but i, like others still pay taxes in the UK on my hard earned pensions and savings. Get your head out of the sand Mr. Davies, this government is a totally selfish, bunch of money grabbers who dont give a toss about the rest of us. you sir are vastly in the minority
No, not a fan of Brown or Blair. Never voted for labour, probably never will. Last I looked, I was also a genuine tax payer, like most other people in this country.
Of course government is selfish. They deal with the big picture, not individuals. Thats pretty much the PURPOSE of government.
I haven’t yet seen many unselfish governments. And the ones that were unselfish created major problems for millions. But at least were unselfish about it! Look up Washington, Stalin, Mao and Castro.
We hand power to a bunch of people who, in many areas, are not qualified to hold an opinion. Then expect them to vote on matters and decide for us.
Its a poor system but it does work. Not brilliantly well, but it does work.
And is self-correcting.
What are the chances, within the timescale needed for a general election to be done, that Labour will have a majority for a 4th term? Looks slim. So problems with some MPs (and parties) will be corrected by those of us who bother to vote. Ignoring of course those who don’t vote.
Interesting today, as Mr Brown says that they want to stop the ‘buy one get one free’ offers at supermarkets.
I wonder if this applies to MP’s london houses!!
Great - hit people in their pockets.
The buy one get one free offers is the same as ‘half price’. Useful when it cuts your overall shopping bill by several percent.
Oh well, I suppose we could always ask Brown to contribute to our shopping bills. Might not ask politely…….
If you have kids and claim tax credits he does contribute to your shopping bills. In fact he and his party have helped alot of poor people in this country over the years. Troube is the british memory is very very short. True our politicians are on to a good screw and are taking the mickey with their expenses, but as we can’t really do much about it and there aint another party worth voting for then we have to make the best of it.
If there isn’t another party worth voting for, create one.
But will that be worth voting for?
entering the world of politics is about making loads of money and retiring on a fat wad. Just what we all want if the truth be told. Who are we to moan and groan when we would all accept their life style tommorrow. Unless of course you are the one in a billion person the voter is looking for. Mr Blair was that man once, and the labour party was full of good intentions it’s just lost it’s way thats all.
Hmmm….maybe Mr Blair wasn’t the only one.
I’m not in his constiuency so never voted for him. But round here we have had the same MPs for over 20 years, two labour and one conservative.
So maybe they are doing a good job, they are all three certainly nice blokes in person.
The voters seem to like them anyway.
There have been people who have entered politics for changing the way things are rather than for making loads of money.
Many deaths were caused by some of them. Not always the people you’d want in charge.
They all enter polictics with good intentions but then i think they loose their way when the lure of big money comes knockin on the door. Trouble is no matter who they are,Labour or Conservatives they all think the same in the end.
Yes, they should all think the same in the end. Serving the needs of their constituents. A high ideal for which any decision made can be of benefit to someone.
Not everyone bothers to tell their MP about problems, give solutions, even just thank them for saving something local thats needed.
After all, its much easier to just whinge online or to mates than to actually tell someone who may not be aware of your problem.
Even better, see the MP. Talk to them - they can listen.
