Demolition work on Stafford’s old leisure centre is entering its final stages.
Much of the Riverside Recreation Centre has been bulldozed over the last few weeks.
The site, off South Walls, has been fenced off to allow work to be carried out. Gardens of the neighbouring former council houses have also been cleared and the homes themselves will be knocked down over the coming weeks.
The site is being cleared ahead of the redevelopment of the site by Trent City Securities.
Redevelopment of the Riverside site will include a complex of apartments, a cinema, hotels, shops, bars and restaurants. But, before work gets under way, the land will be used as temporary car parking while the redevelopment of Tipping Street is carried out.
