Wolverhampton Wanderers have said goodbye to the last remnants of the Hayward era with two resignations from the board.
Rupert Hayward, grandson of former owner-chairman Sir Jack, and Kevin Threlfall, have quit as club directors. Both are leaving for work and personal commitments.
Mr Threlfall, who has been on the board since 2006, said: “Sir Jack asked me to help form a new board and to help identify and ensure a seamless hand over to prospective new ownership.
“So for me it’s a case of ‘job done’.”
The 59-year-old was brought up in Low Hill and made a fortune when he sold his T and S Stores to Tesco.
Chairman Steve Morgan said: “Rupert and Kevin have both made important contributions to Wolves.
“I’d like to place on record the club’s appreciation for their efforts.”
Wolves’ board will consist of Steve Morgan (chairman), Jez Moxey (chief executive), John Gough, John Bowater and Bob Laslett.
