Villa will have to pay £8m if they want West Ham defender Anton Ferdinand.
Reports continue to link the defender and Villa are thought to be preparing a £6m offer for the brother of England star Rio.
West Ham insist they have not received any firm offer from Villa, but a club source divulged that if manager Martin O’Neill wants to land the player, then the price will be around the £8m mark.
Villa have been looking for a new central defender since Olof Mellberg joined Juventus.

Ah, i needed a laugh. 8 million must be some kind of starting figure ending up at about 3 million. Curbishley doesn’t rate him enough to put him in his own first team but worth 8 million. You’re avin a giraffe geezer.

West Ham dont have an abundance of talent, so if Ferdinand is worth 8 mil he would have to be the best player they have, it therfore begs the question “why would they sell their best assett” ANSWER..they are looking to make a finacial killing on a player that is only worth half that fee and because Villa do not have a cash flow problem, they think MON might just be stupid enough to pay it.
