Scotland assistant boss Terry Butcher has urged James McFadden to stay at Birmingham and forget a possible move to Celtic.
McFadden’s agent has claimed the striker wants to leave Blues following their relegation, and there has been interest from Parkhead.
The Scotland frontman moved to St Andrew’s from Everton in January and scored four goals in 12 appearances but could not save Alex McLeish’s team from the drop.
Butcher said: “Give it time and that move will maybe happen for him one day. I suspect it probably will. I just don’t think that time is right now.”
