Baggies poles apart on deal

albionbadge1.jpg

Albion have been warned that they face losing out on another transfer deal unless they increase their offer for Polish star Radoslaw Majewski.

Polish club Groclin Dyskobalia have told the Baggies are still way short of meeting their asking price for the midfielder, who they value at more than £2m.

Albion have already missed on Northern Ireland winger Paddy McCourt this week, who chose the lure of boyhood heroes Celtic.

Tadeuz Fajfer, Groclin’s sporting director, today said negotiations for 21-year-old Majewski were far from complete.

He said: “We haven’t agreed a fee. I’m not going to reveal our price but they are still some way off it.

“They keep lifting the price but it’s not close to our valuation yet. It’s not up to us to push this move through.

“If West Bromwich or any other club want him it’s up to them.”

Have we ever known a transfer go easy at the Hawthorns, I think I’d probably pass out if a transfer went straight through under our noses without some kind of stink kicked up. Well expect alot more of this over the next couple of months.

    Still an Happy Baggie though.

Queue the normal derogatory comments regarding jeremy Peace now……..

Not sure McCourt was such a loss for you guys, surely you must be aiming your sights a little higher than that.

Not been impressed with what you have brought in thus far but everything is quite on the transfer front at the moment so I think with a bit of patience you should bring in some quality.

Genuinely wishing you all the best, think it will be another tough one for you but I fancy you to stay up, just hope we can join you now!!!!

    Tony,

It frustrates the hell out of me too mate, wolves and albion haggle over 200k, and then lose the player, mind you suppose its better than overpaying and doing a leeds.

  6. Kiddybaggie said:

Yep, he’s a liability to our club I’m afraid and the biggest threat to us being relegated at the end of the season!

  7. Great_Barr Baggie said:

Theres people in life who think theres gods gift but there anything but that.aston villa fc remind me of this, the reality is there only in prem to make up the numbers.they have a mega rich chairman and still cant attract top players to the dump of aston,i wonder why?

  10. Oxon Baggie said:

I’m sick to death of peace messing about and trying to penny pinch on good players. I agree that we shouldnt be held over a barrel, but this is crazy. If your in the Prem, you have to pay pay proper fees and wages. Its not like we dont have the tv money to spend! What is Peace planning? A bank full of cash to earn interest when we spend another god knows how long farting around in Championship. Given he is meant to be a venture capitalist and money man, he must see that we need to spend to compete? If we get relegated, we can sell on decent players again. If we just end up with random rubbish then you are stuck with them because nobody else wants them. Peace is a shortsighted, penny pinching fool.

Patience Patience - most players now returning from holidays and internal contratcs still to be tied up with Alby and KP. McCourt is an odd one - quoted in the papers as a boyhood Liverpool fan and all his family are too and hes looking forward to running out at Anfield with the Baggies - next thing hes a boyhood Celtic fan !!

Hes a rraw talent and was at best a squad player - obviously upset TN and JP at the negotiations on personal terms.

Oh Well - I am 150% positive we will see tins of good news in the coming weeks.

If you are referring to Majewski, he wasn’t at the Euros.

  13. Warren (Albion) said:

    7) He didn’t play in the Euros, I don’t know if he was injured or didn’t get picked but to be fair to the Poles, as ineffective as they were, they knocked the ball about when they had the chance and most of their players looked comfortable in possession.

KiddyBaggie- Would you prefer Peter Ridsdale? See the comments on the ‘Mowbray- Stick with us’ article for discussion on this but it’s blind cynicism if you ask me. The accounts are there for all to see if you want to see them.

Have a look at this lad on YouTube, he looks quality.

Looks like a centre-mid, not sure where he’d fit in but looks like a Polish Paul Scholes!!!!

Let’s offer £5 mill and 40K a week in wages. My last word on these stories, I’m getting boring now. Let’s hear it. ‘You always have been.’

I didnt think he was in the Euro`s,did anyone else
see him play as ive only been following ITALY.
Id pay the 2M for him cause hes only a young 21
year old, then TONY MOWBRAY can make him a better
    player.
OH! Ive heard that the Halfords Lane Stand will
be ready for the new season, and its looking
    proper nice.

  17. AJ said:

He wasn’t at the Euro’s because beenhakker wants to keep him in the under 21’s for now.

Villa. Villa: You’re best players going to a much much bigger club. lol lol lol. Idiot.

  18. Cyril Randle said:

If Majewski is worth more, others will make offers too. If they don’t, he ain’t! Simple logic. I hope Danish is right about Alby. He’s brave, good enough and a bloody Viking. What more can we ask?

At least its some transfer talk…much more interesting than reading about Glynis and her cats

WE dont spend big this season and i wont be spending season ticket next.. every season we say we go up and the money we get we will spend…then…
we dont and struggle and come back down

  21. Cantello Rocket 78 said:

Only the people involved know the truth about transfer negotiations, but if you want a few bargains at the weekend boot sale, take the Albion chairman to do the haggling.Clubs must hate dealing with us,if the guy is up for 2mil.,we’ve probably spent a month deciding to stretch our offer to 200k,with conditions.I would imagine if Ronaldhino asked to join the Baggies,he would be offered a trial period, and if the club was happy, would be given the mind-blowing salary of 15k a week. How could he refuse?

  22. no1baggiesfan said:

I love the story about Paddy McCourt moving to boyhood heroes celtic, only last week he was going to anfield with west brom to play against boyhood heroes liverpool, I wish these players would make their minds up.

  23. Cyril Randle said:

No.22″I wish these players would make their minds up”. It might be even easier if the newspapers could make their mind up. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story! I wonder what really happened? JP and ToMo seemed to drop McCourt like a hot potato once they’d met him.

  24. S Briscoe said:

cant wait till Peace sells up. be back in the CC championship if he stays in charge
