Albion winger Chris Brunt is hoping for home advantage to kick off the Baggies’ return to the Premier League.
Brunt will be among those glued to the media when the fixtures are announced on Monday at 10am.
While he is looking forward to facing Newcastle and Middlesbrough, his greatest wish for Tony Mowbray’s men to start the season at The Hawthorns.
He said: “It will be interesting to see where we are playing and when. The opening day is the one fixture everyone looks for.
“After that it will be nice to look for the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal on the list rather than Championship sides.
“We are only three weeks away from pre-season training now and I’m looking forward to getting back into the swing of things.
“We’ve got even more to look forward to this season.
“I would just like to be at home on the opening day of the season because our home form is generally quite good. Three points would certainly kick-start our season.
“I am looking forward to going back to Middlesbrough because I was released from there when I was a kid.
“I am also looking forward to playing at Newcastle because I watched them a few times when I was a child.
“I travelled over from Belfast with my dad.”
Brunt is also an avid viewer of Euro 2008, as he looks ahead to Northern Ireland’s World Cup qualifying campaign, which kicks off this autumn.
He said: “There are a lot of Premier League players in Euro 2008 and it’s interesting to keep an eye on them.
“There are also a couple of teams in there that we have got in our group for the World Cup qualifiers.
“We play the Czech Republic and Poland, so it’s really interesting.”

How did Britains Got Talent miss you? They found most of the deluded morons who thought they were comedians.
1. Nice post from a Liverpool feeder club’s fan.
You could play EVERY game at home and you’d still go down. Leaving the sinking ship the Gera way. In style of course OOOOH YESSSSSS.
No 1 posts on our pages but doesnt bother on the Villa pages???
vile at home first game be nice,,,easy three points to start with…boingboing..PLAYING IN EUROPE THE MOWBRAY WAY,,IN STYLE OF COURSE,,OOOOOOOOOOH YES.
4. Prat.
sad wolves and villa fans have to write on here, you think they would have their own problems supporting villa and wolves. Stay on you own pages not ours boing boing 43 Pts will do it.
I THINK THAT VILLA AND WOLVES HAVE MORE TO WORRY ABOUT WITH THEIR BEST PLAYERS (BARRY,HENNESSEY ETC ) ON THE WAY OUT,THEY ARE SELLING CLUBS!
Villa Boys, aren`t you a bit more worried about Barry giving you lot the V sign and going to play in scouse land than posting childish comments on the albion site?
I hope so much much we can best those arrrogant deluded brummies they make my skin crawl. I finmd wolves palateble compared to them at least with wolves you can have a chuckle but the seals arrrrrrrrrrrr
1. I quote from the recent England match vs USA. It goes ‘Barry…Gerrard…GOAL!’ Get used to that pal, you’ll be hearing that a lot next season.
4. hopelessmistic wulf. Do you really want us to come straight back down & give you wulfs a footballing lesson (again!)?.
If you think you’re going up think again because Derby, Blues, Reading or QPR will be beating your sorry lot to the prem next season.
Staying in the chumpionship the Mad Mick way, oooooh yesssss
“boing boing 43 Pts will do it”. Paul, we can’t win the Prem with just 43 points mate. The best we can hope for is 4th this year but really show ‘em once ToMo has adjusted to this league. Two other points to make. No.4 You are more worried than we are about making a splash next season. No.1. Now, now children, just because Daddy has a big house, don’t be silly towards the new neighbours. You may get a spanking!
So a Professor, who is a football finance expert, claims that the right owner or investors in Albion will make us the dominant midlands club, due to villa’s inability to stand out, while wulfs, blues, etc.don’t even get considered. It means a few more quid in the club, and we will look down on everyone. Is it any wonder vile and dingles come here to have a dig?Underneath, they know the Baggies are about to sweep ‘em all aside.
4.Why do you bother posting on here you have never made one constructive point.
