Two aerosol cans exploded inside a family home, tearing down a partition wall and causing extensive damage.
Fifteen firefighters battled the flames at the three-storey property after the explosion set alight on the top floor.
Fire investigation teams discovered the aerosols had exploded after being left in direct sunlight in the bathroom of the home, in Wednesbury Road, Walsall, which was empty at 10.40am yesterday.
Firefighters also had to rescue a boy from a derelict Black Country pub which had been deliberately set on fire.
Police are investigating after The Fish Inn was badly damaged in the blaze, which was started yesterday afternoon.
When firefighters arrived at the pub in Bank Street at the junction of Commonside Pensnett they could see the boy, thought to be aged 11, at a window on the first floor.
The youngster was given oxygen at the scene and taken to hospital.
Arsonists also struck at a derelict Wolverhampton pub that is set to be transformed into a 69-bed nursing home.
Flames tore through The Wood Hayes, in Fallings Park, leaving the interior a blackened shell.
Two fires were started in the two-storey pub at around 3.30pm on Saturday. This morning yobs sneaked into the derelict premises of a former business in Dudley town centre and set the building alight.
