Lets just hope that swain is right and he does stay at wolves. I think next season with him in the squad for hopefully a whole season with the likes of seyi, jarvis, blake and hopefully lafferty. Think we will stand a great chance especially if we keep our young players from being sold and from becoming injured.
I think that we need him, however much money we get offered, unless we get a ridiculous offer for him. i also think that he will stay. even if he wants to leave i dont think we would accept any offers for him and hes got a few years left on his contract. i just hope that he doesnt get injured again next season.
I’m encouraged by Martin’s comments and I’m sure that Mr Moxey will do all he can and hopefully an agreement can be reached.
Kites deserves a better deal and more importantly the fans (like me) will see this episode as a test case whereby the club demonstrates its ambition - or not. Talk is cheap (and we’ve had a lot of talk) but keeping your best players is expensive. Which is it to be???
Happie-baggies comments on the previous blog about Kites was very astute. the number of negative comments was quite amazing being directed to a player who has not only shown tremendous skill, but also works bloody hard and gives 110% every game.
happie-baggie said he hoped Kites rtead those comments because if he does so then he would not feel particulary cherished by the moaners.
To even things up. Forget the moaners Kites - you get the deal you can and if the club isn’t ambitious enough to keep you then we the fans need to know it. The vast majority of us appreciate you eforts and will always wish you well even if we’ll be saddened (and dismayed|) to see you go. Good luck but try and stay with us…. please
Agents and greedy players are making football a joke. He was happy enough to cash his paycheck while he was injured and having private medical healthcare supplied by the club.
I’m angry that this young man has become a primadonna in such a short time. When Fernando Redondo got injured at AC Milan and only played 16 games in 3 years he refused to accept wages and gave back the house and car the club provided him. The days of loyalty and honour are a bygone age now more’s the pity.
so it is money then keep kissis the badge kites boing boing aye
Kightly your getting greedy,
20 games and demanding more money whos he think he is,get rid of him, players like him bring your club down, its a question if he will play 20 games agen this season hes crocked, boing boing aye
im sorry to say i wont be on much today as ive got to start gettin ready for the promotion party tomorra nite aye boing boing splash it all over
sad to see footballers looking to renegotiate contracts at every opportunity, however it is a fact of modern football that if wolves want to keep him they will have to improve his terms. I wonder though what would happen if at the end of a season the clubs said to rubbish players lets cut your pay…
Greed, greed, greed…..
He’s still only a young lad but if he’s like the rest of us he probably wants the world tomorrow. Football is extremely fickle though, so he does need to think carefully about moving at this stage in his development. His agent will not be giving him the best career advice, that’s for sure.
I think he will get a lot more money if he hangs on a year or two before moving on, and that’s whether he stays at Wolves or not. The interest in his services can only increase in my view.
I sincerely hope he stays, for his sake and ours.
I’m afraid it’s just a question of a club coming in with the right offer.
sounds like he was annoyed at the mis diagnosis of his injury, as was gary breen,
we need to ask questions over our medical staff, minor injurys turn into season long injurys.
I will start by saying NO player is bigger than the club……
Time will prove that if Kights goes or if he stays Wolves will move forward. Players can be found in the lower leagues and prove to be gems, as he did.
If those players then suddenly after 1 full season start to see £’s signs then maybe they need to be moved on and replacements found.
If his wage was good enough 6 months, why not now? Because he has an agent now who is unsettling him and turned his head saying he can earn more!!
Kights only played 20 games and was injured, if Wolves needed to they could sell him and make good money, don’t hear moaning from Jarvis but will it insettle him?
My overall view is - PLAY THE WOLVES YOUNGSTERS.
The academy kids have a point to prove, have been here for years nd have loyalty - Did they really perform that badly in MM’s first year in charge?
Kights - Do not get greedy, you can be replaced
Lot of emotion tied up in football, but at the end of the day its stll a business with employers trying to pay the least they can and employees trying to earn the best they can. George Ndah and Mark Clyde showed how quickly it can be all over, you can’t blame Kightley for wanting to make the best of it.
i see your after eardley, well it just so happens i know a oldham season ticket holder and he zed hes a good player aye boing boing
As proved at the Boggies last season with Curtis Davies etc NO player is irreplaceable BUT that only applies when you have a manager that has a clue about tactics and playing the right players in the right positions!
The days of Steve Bull and loyalty to clubs as Bully had shown to Wolves is long gone
All this talk of what, if and maybe Kites is thinking or going to say is irrelevant
IF Kites wants to go - he will - IF he wants to stay he will - therefore NO matter what Kites reads on these threads is also irrelevant!
People need to get a reality check - Money is the main driver in football today; a players personal ambition is nowadays a poor second and loyalty to the club, badge kissing etc is nothing more than a joke!
Far too many players have more of a priority to the type of car they drive and their “personalised” number plate than they really care about “wearing the shirt”
Yet thousands of fans every season pay out a good portion of their hard earned and are expected to simply “put up” with any outcome on the field of play and given the same old strap line of “support the team” - even when they get served up with dross more often than not! Is it “support the team” or is it more a case of “put up and shut up”?
Tony Mowbray had an exodus of players and he sorted out suitable replacements; sticking to his own brand of football and tactics and hey got promoted - Is MM capable of doing the same?
We believe that if the “crown jewels are sold” quality replacements will not be as forthcoming and we the fans will be subjected to yet another “rebuilding” exercise - Is it rebuilding or is it just another word for failure and incompetence?
If he wants to go then let him. No one is bigger than the club!
Yawn Yawn Yawn!
Pay him what he is wirth to the club. Basically anything he asks within reason. One good season and his value will triple anyway, invest in the future Wolves and stop being a second rate club.
For goodness sake sell him if he wants out. Albion got rid of about 7 of there so called top stars who played their face about not being in the prem and it made for a happier dressing room and they went up in style as champions.
Must agree with bridget and tony though, can MM buy as well as Mowbray and get us playing as well? Doubt it very much.
Just let him go!!!
l think Kites has every right to have a look at his contract and make alterations and improvments, he needs to feel its the right deal for him. I dont think hes looking to leave, but if he read the majority of the comments on here, he probally would. Some of you Wolves fans need to get real.
20,wouldent you be better off supporting leeds there a bigger club and bin to wembley aye boing boing
Kightly has received great supporter backing during his short playing season just passed. We need him but there seems to be a sense of greed attached having not long ago agreed and signed what was obviously a good deal at that time.is a sense of greed attached
Sorry to stick my oar in guys, but quite a few of you are calling Kightly a greedy so-and-so.
If he is unhappy with the financial terms of his contract that he signed only a paltry few months ago, then you are right to be disgruntled.
However, i have not read ANYWHERE about the reasons he is not entirely happy with his contract.
I suppose in todays money orientated game where greed is commonplace, it is easy to assume that the reason for his (Kightly) unhappiness is financial, but it is ONLY an assumption.
I think you are in danger of condemning the bloke before you are in possession of the full facts.
He’s class - i say up his money on a long contract if we dont go up and he’s keen to move on we will get twice+ the money next year.It comes down to whether you have a strong/pushy agent which Kites now has. That over lets concentrate on winning this bloody league and changing places with the sh*te. Can somebody out there give terryuglyboybaggie a job and stop him commenting about our quality players
We should value good players that want to stay
Freddie
It is ridiculous for anyone to say that a player is greedy. Why on earth shouldn’t they get what deal is best for them. I suspect Wolves have Kightly on the cheap in salary terms after getting him from Grays. If the guy is being offered Premier League wages, is there anybody who is criticising Kightly now who would turn down such a chance to be a millionaire overnight?
All we can hope is that he agrees to a release clause in his contract that lets him move on at the end of the season if Wolves don’t get promoted.
But having got injured last season his agent will be telling him that who knows, he might get a career threatening injury in the next year and the chance to cash in will be gone.
I will keep my fingers crossed that Kightly, Hennessey and SEB give us one more year to try to get promoted, but I for one would not criticise them for taking the big money opportunity on offer.
hahahahahaha wats it like to be in our shadow looozers
Seems to me that it’s probably not Kightly being greedy, but his new agent, who I would imagine has not made much money out of him yet having not dealt with the previous contract, but sure stands to if he signs a new one or leaves for big money.
Kightly must stay, end of.
Theproblem is his new agent……when he signed his contract he was another agent!!!
This agent looks after the premier wannabees and tries to get his clients BIG deals (beacause he gets a % of the deal)
Ask Kights how much he was earning 18 months ago? Did he go to the Grays chairman insisting on more money?
GREED
How he can demand a rise when all he did last year was sit at home injured is a joke its just another example of how the adgents destory the work rate of talented players and turn it into greed. Hes lost alot of my respect from myself
Is it me thats Naive or the posters claiming he’s disloyal/greedy?
Footballs our hobby and his day job - a big difference. Anyone here going to admit to working for less than the going rate but staying with the company because of blind loyalty? Thought not.
Put yourself in his shoes, what would you do?
strange how many west birmingham fc fans are obsessed with all things wolves…the likes of terry………………baggie and hoggy-boggy are on here all the time….they give so much time to posting about wolves
Can anyone tell me what the point of having a contract is? Numerous cases of players signing 3 or 4 year contracts, then moving on at their convenience after just a few months. Good job football isn’t run like a proper business, where contracts are enforced.
36,tipton,its cuz we like to see wots going on in the championship and how many old uns your signing aye boing boing
My stomach turned when I read Kites’ comments. I thought he was a decent lad, but if he wants to renegotiate the 4 year deal he signed a few short months ago, then his heart isn’t in the club like I thought it was. Bye bye Kites, have fun warming your bum on the bench in the Prem. We’ll stick to players who want to play for our club. And sorry 4, but you can’t say that fans who don’t just quietly put up with anything the players do or say are moaners. Kites was cherished, but not just for his ability, but his commitment. His commitment has clearly vanished, and therefore the goodwill of all those who love the club will vanish with it-that’s not moaning.
Bow to his demands and we’ll all be at it.
Meanwhile, all you Wolves fans should go into work tomorrow, go into personnel, go boo-hoo-hoo on your bosses shoulder and see whether you get a huge wage hike.
Ridiculous.
The world’s mad! Kightly came as an unknown worth say one million and a salary of say 10 grand a week. He is now worth say 5 million and a salary of 20 grand a week. Either pay him or sell him. Do not use crap like disloyalty. He is a commodity with a value. Strip out the emotional bunk and see this as a commercial issue.
Stay calm, lots of spin, the usual pre season stuff, gain some interest, more season ticket sales, more club shop sales, more keep the fans divided and keep the profit rolling in. Same old Wolves again, another 7th place for us.
Terry I am suprised that anyone would admit knowing you.
He was keen for Freddy to come to Molineux too. I wonder how the saga between Mick and Freddy has affectd his opinion of the manager he had to frequently defend in the media? An offer, say from West Ham, could mean him going home and playing in the Premier! It would make anyone reconsider, in my opinion. He is a good player, we need him ore than he needs us.
i think he should get us where we belong
