Birmingham manager Alex McLeish is not worried about losing Sebastian Larsson to a bigger club if the midfielder shines for Sweden at Euro 2008.
The 22-year-old is the sole Blue on display when the tournament gets underway in Austria and Switzerland this weekend, with the Swedes kicking off against Greece next Tuesday.
McLeish – who is to receive an honorary degree from the University of Aberdeen in July – believes Larsson’s experience will be of help rather than hinderance to the club.
He said: “It is not something that worries me – it’s something I welcome because when they come back we will have a better player.
“Let’s face it, if a Birmingham player plays well they’re definitely going to get noticed by the bigger clubs, but that doesn’t mean we will sell our assets, unless it was a ridiculous offer.”
