She is known as the ‘Hair Colour Doctor’ and now award winning Midland hairstylist Lisa Shepherd is prescribing advice on hit TV makeover show 10 Years Younger.
The Kidderminster hairdresser, one of the UK’s leading hair colourists, has joined the programme’s team of experts in the beauty, hair and cosmetic industries.
She’s the first colour expert on the weekly Channel 4 show, which is hosted by Nicky Hambleton-Jones.
The new series started this week and sees beauty and style gurus - Lisa included - helping improve the appearance of the featured women.
Lisa, aged 37, based in Mill Street, said: “This is my first series and I loved it. We have been filming for about six months, so you can imagine it’s been hard to keep it so secret in that time so as not to spoil the show.
“The filming was a lot of work, but the team are great, everyone is very professional and also fun so it made it such an enjoyable experience.
“It’s the best makeover show on TV. I’m so proud to have been invited to be involved.” Lisa, British Hairdresser of the Year 2005, has been Colourist of the Year three times.
Her speciality is with people stuck in a hair colour rut. She said: “Many women just simply don’t know what to do, so think if they stick to what they knew 20 years ago that is the safest option. In fact it is the worst option possible.
“I hope that through series five of 10 Years Younger I will show that you don’t need to be afraid of colour and that you can adapt trends to suit you - but keep your hair looking modern fresh and beautiful.”
The first episode of the new series, on Tuesdays at 8pm, saw mother-of-five Amanda Davies, 38, transformed.
“I think it was an incredible end result,” said Lisa.
