Wolves have tempted Burnley with a £2.25m cash offer plus Stephen Elliott for forward Kyle Lafferty.
Boss Mick McCarthy hopes to bring a year-long chase for the Northern Ireland international to a close by beating off bids from Rangers and Celtic.
Rangers already have a £2.5m bid on the table for the 20-year-old, who is one of the hottest properties outside the Premier League.
Celtic made a £3.5m cash plus player offer in the last transfer window and the Hoops are expected to come in again for the player, who scored nine goals from left midfield this season.
News of fresh interest in Lafferty was greeted with a flat bat at Turf Moor, where it’s believed they are seeking £4m for their prize asset.

Id like him down here. He’s only 20 and has great potential. He can also play on the left wing.
Laferty would strike up a good partnership with SEB I reckon, although his record doesn’t look prolific, he’s still young and looks very promising. I can only hope that Burnley accept ’cause we all know Mick wont break the bank.
he will never come to us
£2m and a quarter plus Elliot? I’d take that! Sadly, I doubt the nice folk up at Burnley would… also, it depends on whether or not Lafferty would rather play as first choice in the Championship or off the bench in the SPL…
Every time I’ve seen him, he’s looked quality. Not sure he’d do a job in the prem, but he’d certainly help get us there!
No chance with that offer, just offer what they want. He obviously is quality, Elliot isn’t worth half what we paid for him.
Plus Stephen Elliott?
Wouldn’t the money and a box of old socks have been more tempting?
Does this mean we’re aiming to have a squad of one always injured but otherwise excellent goalkeeper, another excellent goalkeeper and twenty-four forwards again?
Only joking. We did score less goals than Derby County managed points last season, so fair enough.
I’m just hoping we remember to look at other positions. We just seem to always be signing forwards.
I would rather spend the money on vaughan from Everton
Lafferty $3m +Elliott+Ward.Trouble is that MM won’t part with Ward.
Great news for once! A good player in this league for sure and only 20. I think we could offer Freddy though if they don’t want elliot thus killing 2 birds with 1 stone??
$2m + freddy seems more like it but do they want elliot?
hmmm. I’d rather have Freddy.
We need to get in there for Kris Commons straight away. Released on a free by Forest….pay him what he wants! He’ll provide our midfield creativity
Kris Commons is going to Derby.
Another forward???
Is Mick just going to keep buying forwards until he finds another gem like SEB??
I keep hearing about this lad but have only seen him play 4 times in the flesh, he played ok, and at 20 is still very young. The problem Wolves might find is that the boy might see you as much of a move forward, where as Celtic and Rangers will tempt him more. Plus if Burnley rejected a larger offer from Celtic in January what makes Moxey think they will sell now for considerably less?? Maybe offer him a pie and pint aswell, that might seal the deal!!!
Like the look of him, could make a really good partnership with SEB, with Kites and Jarvis doing the supply work!
Let’s just get on with it!!
Just a bit of deja vu - but where is the quality centrehalf, we all know is desperately required???
How many goals did Lafferty get last season ??
I’ve looked at the scorers table and he aint in the top 15 strikers from last season in the championship.
What is it with Wolves and strikers who can’t score ??
You bought Kyle who scores when there is a P in the month - and now this guy. SEB can’t do it all on his own.
You missed out on the playoffs by 1 goal - surely everyone can see whats needed….
Happy Baggie - Didn’t he spend a lot of the season on the wing?
Why not do the same comparison on wingers?
Could be a valuable addition, would definately give that “something different” up front that MM says he was looking for with Kyle.
However im not sure as to the price. We are obviously gunna have to bid higher if we want to compete with rangers for his signature and £3-£4 million on one player is a hell of a lot. Especially seeing as no-one knows our budget???
And as people are saying, SURELY SURELY SURELY this year the priority has to be two good strong CB’s and a creative midfielder?
WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ANOTHER NON PROLIFIC GOAL SCORER!!! SORT IT OUT MICK
i live in nottingham and have seen commons play a few times,
i think he would be a great player to have in our midfield!
19 - ok, how many goals did gera get ?
still, he will make a decent replacement for Kightly - he can’t score either.
+ELLIOT AND BOTHROYD AND THEY WOULD BE SILLY NOT TO SAY YES!
Christiano Ronaldo is a winger
One for the future maybe but cant see him coming here, id try and nick Harewood from up the road , Savage for a season , Gerrard from walsall , Gunter from Spurs on loan, that young lad who broke through at West Ham on load and play our lads (including Rosa).
C’mon me babiees …………
Happy_baggie stop thinking you know everything about football, i bet you’ve never even kicked one.
For a start he played left wing last season, so it shows what you know about football.
yawn yawn as i wait for you to bite back.
Happy - what is it with Albion and defenders that cannot defend? Exactly how many goals did your team let in last season?…
Mick dpesn’t seem to realise that we need a quick decent center half.
He would be a great addition but there’s no way Burnley will take that offer. Maybe we should offer 2.5m Elliot and Thick Mick.
Would be a decent signing IMO,but i wouldnt stick him out wide left,Jarvis & Kites are pacey & will do the buisness next season, his tall so i would play him along side SEB,but he hasnt a prolific goalscoring record so he isnt worth as much as they say he is,still rather him than wasting 1mill on donkey howard, with Lafferty theres youth on his side.
A tall talented player with loads of potential. 4M and forget Elliott might just turn their heads.
Freddie, if we must sell and 1M to us….lol. Seriously he’s our only bargaining tool of the players up for grabs.
I hope this is the usual E&S nonesense.
Laffertys record in the last 3 years;
07/08 - 37 Appearances, 5 Goals, 1 Assist
06/07 - 35 Appearances, 4 Goals, 0 Assists
05/06 - 11 Appearances, 1 Goal, 1 Assist
Looks to me like he can’t score or assist! Why are we even thinking about him? Sign PROVEN players. We want to be in the Prem in a year not about 8 when our team has matured
28,GARY COOPER,not as many as we scored and thats all that matters boing boing scoring goals the MOWBURY WAY FOR FUN
Has been likend in style to the late Derek Dougan,Iwould have him at Molineux.
he is irish after all!!!
potter scored for ireland the other day!! keep him lol!
Sign a proven goal scorer..not a maybe man??Owe yeah he’s Irish!!!!
23 - I dont know, how many goals did Gera get?? I wonder how many he will get for Everton/Benfica/Celtic next season…..
Why would we need to replace Kightly, hes not going anywhere!
Marlon from the villa
33) That’s the season just gone. Next season you won’t be able to score and concede even more.
Going down boing…boing…!
Stick at that offer, no more. Certainly not £4 million. He scored a quality goal for Northern Ireland and has played wide a lot for Burnley but he is not worth that. Anyway we need to look at signings that could play in the Premiership, the following season as that is where we are going.
THIS IS THE SIGNING WE ARE LOOKIN FOR!!!
THIS LAD IS QUALITY AND WILL BE AN EXCELLENT SIGNING!
When Burnley played at molineux this season and won, i think he scored two that night and he was dangerous all night. Was very impressed and hes still only young!
Dear Terence, I’m sorry but can Happy not answer for himself? I am trying to communicate with the organ grinder, not the monkey.
Thanks for your input, as ever. Call yourself a wind-up merchant? (snigger…)
daint he have a hit in the 70s with baker street, boing boing
If they don’t accept £2.25m plus Elliot, up the offer to £2.25m without Elliot.
Do people not realise that we could have the best two strikers in the world but without service they won’t score goals? Last game of the season McCarthy said summed up our season - the Plymouth didn’t have a save to make in the whole game. As long as you have Olojinjana and Henry in the midfield, play offs is all we will achieve.
Shouldn’t keep talking about how many he scored last season, as he played out on the left for a lot of the season.
Re 26…. Freddie Sears , thats the other one.
C,mon me Babiees
No Terry, that was Gerry Rafferty
Young and not good enough. Our aspirations do not change.
Wood is a pleasant thing to think about.
Daint????
Shouldnt that be terryILIKESPELLINKbaggie
i hate to sread rumours but i have just had a txt off a friend that works at molinuex wh has seen a couple of players go into molineux. cant tell you who (sorry) but looks like activity @ the golden palace
Not herd of him?? any good then people?? i supose you cant do any worse than Elliot…..
4 million that would buy james Beattie,oh i forgot hes not irish
Muz, Seen the lad a couple of times and seems to have some football ability, your point about E&S Stats, if Blackburn had have based there decision on signing Shearer on the stats.
Alan Shearer first three seasons at Southampton
87-88 Played 5 Goals 3
88-89 Played 10 Goals 3
89-90 Played 36 Goals 5
50………. good news or bad news?
Personally I would rather we pay £2m+ for Lafferty rather than pay half that amount for Howard, who is a similar player but much older (and not as good!). If we can get rid of Elliot into the bargain then all the better…
He is a good player, just not sure he will come to us, he will go to Celtic. But Elliott needs to go, another one of MM bad buys!
50 Yes Mad Mick is signing Frank Stapleton,
and Jason Mcateer, Now watch you guys go.
The text was from uncle Jez, he needs some Season Ticket sales.
a 4 million price tag is not for Championship purses…at any cost, Wolves can’t afford to shop at Burnley at those prices…getting him from Harrods would be cheaper!
The player who is unsettled and may be looking for a change and who can score at this level Is Joe Kamara, but i know he won’t meet with wide approval. he could be available realitically at 3.5m…still over priced but you’d be paying for the experience, doubt he’d come though.
GET PHILIPS!!
No 45 and what makes yiou think MM will play him in his correct position ! he will probably end up as a centre half or left winger !
re 52 - is Ebanks-Blake Irish? Or Dave Edwards? Or Elokobi, Kightly or Jarvis? You obviously don’t realise how tiresome this sad old notion of ‘McCarthy only buys Irish or ex-Sunderland players’ has become, do you? Do you think that when you’re old and grey, lying on your deathbed, you’ll still be repeating the mantra ‘Irish, ex-Sunderland’ ad infinitum? Why not finally give this one a rest, mate?…
Greg … so you think £4M for a winger (forward) who can’t score is a good move for a team that needs goals ??
Also who gets dropped - Kightly or Jarvis ??
IMO this would only be viable if Kightly goes - and thats a real possibility…
as for our defenders - you are just believing you rown rubbish… we were no worse than the rst of the top 6 - yes we let some in, but +30 goal difference tells its own story.
We were winning 5-1 whilst you lot were drawing 0-0 - thats why we are champions and you lot are playing swansea next season.
why are we trying to buy players know…? there is a big shopping window opening this summer, and we are bound to get some real quality at bargin prices!!! a few million would get some good players..
Or can our scouts only function in this neck of the woods?
Sorry Happy, I realise I must have touched a nerve there. I didn’t mean to get you so upset… even though you are a visiting poster on this board I will try not to say anything that may provoke you from now on, being that you are obviously quite a sensitive chap.
So yes, West Brom are great.. but I think that fans of Hull, Crystal Palace and Bristol City may beg to differ with your assertion that your defence was no worse than anyone else’s in the top 6. Even our own defence, shackled with the likes of Gary Breen, Neill Collins and Darren Ward managed to keep out more than you lot!
Now tell me, if that’s a fact… am I lying?
I WOULDN’T GET TOO EXCITED IF I WERE YOU! RECKON THERE’S MORE CHANCE OF STEPHEN WARD GOING TO MAN UTD THAN LAFFERTY COMMING TO US. AND OFFERING ELLIOTT AS PART OF THE DEAL SHOULD CERTAINLY KILL OFF ANY FAINT HOPES WE MAY HAVE HAD THERE.
SEEMS LIKE MUPPET IS STRUGGLING TO FIND ANY DECENT PLAYERS SO FAR. SO IMPLIMENT PLAN B.. IRISH OR EX SUNDERLAND..NEVER FAILS DOES IT?
we shud offer, ward, ward, collins, elliot and £3mil. kill 2 birds with 1 stone!
happybaggie you’ll be another derby so shut up
53…Lafferty is NEVER goin 2 be another Shearer, plus he scored those goals in the prem, where lafferty has stuggled 2 score in the championship.
And not wanting 2 bring the freddy saga up again, but 2 be fair 2 freddy, his goals ratio per game were better than Laffertys last season & we need someone who can stick the ball in the net regularly & not havin 2 rely on SEB again !!
Lafferty does remind me a bit of the late great Doog.I think playing up front he would scoere goals.Remember Peter Beardsley hardly scored any goals when he was at Carlisle but once he moved to the top league he scored regular ! lets hope Lafferty wull be the same.Stop messing around wolves show you want him a mke a proper bid.the only problem though is if you are paying £4m for a player then realistically that player should be going to the premiership !
61) On talking to a few Albion fans, your defence is poor. You won’t have the benefit of goals next season as you have no-one there capable of scoring them in the top league. Phillips was 3 or 4 years ago, but not now.
Don’t worry about who are Wolves are after. Look after yourselves, as you need at least half a dozen to have a chance of survival.
I read some Albion fan the other day working out where they will get their points from. They said 6 from Stoke. What’s your record like against them? They love playing the Albion!
Would be a decent signing but hang on a minute, the one thing the Fat Controller is good at is keeping things behind closed doors till after the deal’s done so I doubt there’s much to this. Also Its still May so I’d be surprised if anything other than rumours are exchanged for the next month or so.
Newspapers still need to be filled though!
Greg 63 - No problem from my side pal - I’m very happy thank you !!
Which stat are you talking about - are you saying we DIDN’T have a plus 30 goal difference ??
We let one or two more in than some teams - but scored over 20 more - but to you this is a point of derision…
I will be the first to say that we need to strengthen our defence for the coming season - but I’m sure you will admit (seeing as we won the league) that we were certainly good enough for last season.
we will certainly be improving our team for next season - inc defense - but what are you lot gonna do ?? Howard, Lafferty - the list is endless….
Now if you had just kept out one goal - or maybe if you had manged to score just one against our rubbish defense you would have made the playoffs….
66 - and you lot will be another wolves… ha ha !!
26 and 46. Nice, not sure on Mr Savage, but i agree an old head in there would do wonders, remember the effect of Mr Ince.
Did anyone see him play in the FA cup against arsenal he was burnleys best player by a mile won everything in the air and hit the post. very good player with a point to prove.
I must agree with 58. we need a proven goalscorer as well as SEB. what happens if (when) he gets injured. Lets go for Kevin Phillips - i know ex Sunderland but he knows how to put the ball away and create for others, and hopefully he doesn’t hate MM
Happy Baggie, you truely are a sad old man. You have no job, no life, or wife for that matter and you are only married to this website. GET A LIFE.
I bet you are a guy who goes to your local and bang on how rubbish wolves are whilst people n that pub must be so embarrased with your presence.
Nevermind if it helps I will come and visit you when they put you away in the loony bin
I find it quite funny that all wolves fans have is to live in the hope of West Brom failing.
How bad are wolves if thats all you have to look forward too. Sad really but thats life.
Greg Cooper sorry to but in with your banter with Happy Baggie but, I dont know how many goals albion conceded last season but it was far less than they they scored.
brucey bonus time
What do goals make??? points
what do points make ?? League titles
71 Cant you lot afford your own website, or are you just lost, boing off………….
*down goes the float*
As I highlighted before: Happy = easily upset. I’m afraid your latest rant just backs this up. I think you need to calm down before the nurses up your dosage my little blue-and-white-striped chum.
And in answer to 76, I’m just pointing out that your defence was quite poor last season, seeing as an unprovoked Happy was so quick to highlight our lack of goals. He can dish it out but sadly, it seems, can’t take it.
Happy hasnt got a clue.
next season will see an end to sandwells attacking football and they will have to defend for 70-80% of every game.
your defence was crap last season but you got away with it because for 70-80% of the game you were attacking teams.
Domonic Matteo has been released by Stoke. Might be worth a look?
So whats the plan for next season then Albion fans? Your main goalscorer is going, and even if he stays he’s too old for the Premiership.
You’ve got a Scottish league reject, and a muppet from Man City who has already been deemed not good enough for the Premiership.
Still…so long as you’re not conceding goals then you might scrape some 1-0’s….
…oh that’s right your defense is like a colander!!
Your defence at Wolves was so good because you defended in numbers hence the low goals against and for.
67 Wasn’t suggesting he’s as good as Shearer by the way, or suggesting he ever will be, but you can’t just use stats, by the way Shearer didn’t spend a season playing on the left wing either.
Happy
STOP THE PRESS
You don’t rate a player we might sign. Well who’d have thought it. It wouldn’t matter who we was linked with, you wouldn’t rate them. So quite a pointless post, but oh well.
..so what would have happened to Wolves defence if you had go promoted ? We conceded so few in the Championship, our defence can withstand any Premiership attack. You do need a reality check if S*U*P*E*R I is having a knock at out attack as well. Remember all our three top goalscorers per full game had a better ratio goals per game than SB. If you knock a superior often enough you eventually become deluded in thinking that you have something better than what you really have. Wolves - we the the best team in the Championship, had the best defence and the most potent attack and on paper should have been playing Chelsea last night - how come Man United were there instead of us.
wud be a good signing i no his goal scoring rcord isnt up to much but he is only young and still learning the game,he and seb will be good only if mick drops keogh, and with kites and jarvo puttin the balls in he will score sum goals then,i remember burnley down here last season we lost 3-2 and lafferty ripped us apart
Lafferty does remind me a bit of the late great Doog.I think playing up front he would score goals.Remember Peter Beardsley hardly scored any goals when he was at Carlisle but once he moved to the top league he scored regular ! lets hope Lafferty will be the same.Stop messing around wolves show you want him a make a proper bid.the only problem though is if you are paying £4m for a player then realistically that player should be going to the premiership !
The Wolf says ‘just offer what they want’.
Thats how clubs like Leeds used to run their affairs.Don’t ever run a Company or you will end up with a Bankruptcy hearing.
i live and work close to burnley.
all the the burnley fans i work with say they will drive him down to wolves, if they get 4m for him. he is hit and miss a little like bothroyd has been for us a good player when he can be bothered so i don’t think he will strenghten the squad much, and is certanly not prem class if we go up.best look elsewhere.
83…. Well why do we need another left winger then cos thats where MM will play him. We need a decent strike partner 4 SEB !!!
Seriously, Wolves fans knocking Albion fans on their defence is pushing things to the limit. If it weren’t for Craddock (when playing) and Hennesey, I’m afraid our shocking goal difference would’ve been even worse. Whilst Im no boo boy - Collins ? Ward ? Both had plenty of shockers. MM’s biggest mistake last year was not getting in quality centre backs.
Personally Im not sure about Lafferty. I really dont see how he will do any better than Keogh who Socred more than him last season, and I think Keogh and SEB will be superb next season, all the Keogh knockers amaze me - when SEB arrived him and Keogh looked great together. I suppose it would create competition with Freddy and Elliott going though.
4 million for lafferty, please god no ! Not a bad player but 4 million no thanks ! Surely that sort of money can be better spent. Hold on he’s irish isn’t he ? Still waiting for the sunderland clearout players to arrive !
Wolves need some quality in now at molineux and if mick gets these players in we will be prem next season defornate !! we need quality from the lower leagues like we hace done with kightly, jarvis, foley etc.
Defenders:
A.GERRARD WALSALL 22 CB .. FREE ( CONTARCT EXPIRED )
C.GUNTER TOTTENHAM 18 CB .. LOAN IN
C.BERRA HEARTS 24 CB .. £1.0M TO £1.5M
Midfielders:
K.COMMONS NOT FOR 24 ANYWERE IN MIDFIELD .. FREE ( REALESED .. GET HIM NOW )
D.BELL LUTON 24 ANYWERE IN MIDFIELD .. £750K TO £1M
D.JONES DERBY 23 CM .. £750K TO £1M
Strikers:
A.MCLEAN PETERBROUGH 24 ST .. £1M
S.VOKES BORNEMOUTH 18 ST .. £1M TO £1.5M
K.LAFFERTY BURNLEY 20 ST+LM .. £2.5M AND A PLAYER
Come on mick get these in and wolves will be premiership .. and if moxey isnt tight with the transfer fee and wages we could get somewere i.e PREMIERSHIP .. MOXEY AND MICK !!
GET THESE IN AND WE WILL BE PREM FOR SURE !!
UP THE WOLVES !!
In regard to your potential signings then please read an independent review from Sky Sport and I can say he;s not an Albion fan taking the mick:
If you had £4m, you would probably buy a big house, double glazing for your grandmother and go on a three-month holiday to Mustique. Wolves manager Mick McCarthy would rather buy Burnley’s Kyle Lafferty.
The most Irish manager in football will then tie up a deal for Sam Vokes of Bournemouth, who has been described as a ‘wonderkid’ but almost certainly is not.
90. erm SEB as a strike partner his name is Andy Keogh!!
94
One of the most poor comments i’ve seen. You’re now taking other people’s comments off other sites, weird. Suppose at least you referenced them. Come on now ha. hahaha. What’re you?
I agree that we need to sign young hungry players that want to go places with us, but we also need some experience. I think we really lacked leadership last year, and once we went behind, the players heads went down.
For all his faults, George has that experience and tries to motivate those around him (although it’s a shame he can’t motivate himself into a tackle!)
Someone like Lee Carsley or Domonic Matteo would be ideal in my opinion. Henry is ok, but will never be more than a fringe player. Let George go to Sunderland if they want to offer a substantial figure, and bring in an old head. Couple that with someone creative like David Edwards or Kris Commons, and I think we’re onto a winner.
93 big wolf.
You post the same drivel everyday. You bang on about who you’d like to see down molineux, is it because you have them on your football manager game? You have added to your list the players we are linked with. If we are linked with Phillips from Albion you will add him to your list saying we HAVE to get him, how boring!
I thought I would respond to your post because no-one else has for the last 4 effing weeks you’ve been banging on about those players, now change the record!
lets face it
we got no chance with gers and celtic in for him
michael is our jester, michael is our jester oh lalala, LMAO.
Thanks michael.
96 So you are saying an independent view from another party isn’t relevant then, how often do you register your opinion across both forums. This is a country of free speech and everyone is entitled to their own view, or are you saying that if the article was positive you would have embraced it.
93. doesnt matter if anthony gerrards contract as expired he is under 24 so walsall will still get a fee!!!
why do you need a forward, when in Mad MM words
His best ever signing S Ward is now fit.
30,terryIDIOTboggie After reading your blogs for some time you get boring and you are an IDIOT.
How the hell can wolves get him when celtic want him no chance, and who the hell would want elliot.
uselss.. wouldn’t want him anywhere near wolves.
over rated.
this guy is so overrated its untrue !.on the burnley board their fans say they should cash in as they can get replacement for lafferty for no more than £750k !.just goes to show mick aint got a clue !.wonder what our style of play will be again ?,launch it and hoof it again then !.
MCARTHY OUT COME NOVEMBER PUT YOUR MONEY ON IT WHEN WE AINT IN THE TOP SIX AGAIN !
Get the Goal-posts that kept Chelsea out–I think Lafferty had a good game against us but he is not a goal-scorer—Juries out Who else is there ?.
95…erm i said a DECENT strike partner !!
LondonBaggies, I shall embrace your own view, if you used that rather than other peoples. It just demonstrates a lack of creativity on your part (set you up for a joke there).
47,THANKS WILFIE,he cudent play football either boing boing walking along on baker street
104,mic, i may be an idiot, but im a premier league idiot, and im gorgeous boing boing wheres me comb
I’m based in the north.Lafferty is a young player, and would be a good investment (to trade or sell later) He isn’t consistent or prolific and needs a lot of coaching to help him develop - Would he get that under MM or TC?
The price tag with players in part ex is reasonable, but Burnley want a lot more than that
He’s ok, but isn’y worth anything like 4M. More like 2M. I still say go back to Cardiff, try Ledley again and Capaldi for OF and JB, with a bit of cash. That would be better for us - we need to bolster the defence and we need a quality creative midfielder. JFDI…
104mic, so why do you read them boing boing, up the MOWBURY WAY
hope we sign him great player and celtic and rangers hold him in high regard.one more point you all come on here and say how bad keogh is because you lot are supposed to or think u r the experts.but mr trappatoni has stated that keogh is very talented and will be in his starting xi.it just shows you how little some of you idiots no about talented players.b cos by the way trappatoni has gone about him u wudnt no talent if it hit you in the head.keogh is god
If more than 3 million quid forget it. I don’t fancy our chances of landing him against the Glasgow giants anyway.
Glad to se we have so many maagers in the wings ready to pick team.
Lafferty is another youngster, will he improve enough to keep MM in a job if we fail to impress next season?
Sort out the defence and the creative midfileder and our current strikers will do the job.
Good player but a bit pricey because he is unproven but has a lot of potential
I’m a season ticket holder at Burnley and I personally wouldn’t like to swap elliott + £2.25 for lafferty. Lafferty played almost all season on the left wing, thats why his goals record isn’t brilliant. Given a chance upfront, I think he has the potential to score 20+ goals a season. We are trying to build a team to challenge for promotion so I don’t think we would sell to one of our rivals, if we sell at all.
Also with celtic and rangers interested, I wouldn’t expect that you would be able to offer the amount of money they could
This feels like an awful lot of money for a player yet to prove himself? If we’re in the market for potential then I would much rather go for Vokes?
Go n get him McCarthy.
Seb/Lafferty up front.
Let Burnley take the pick of Freddy,Keogh,Elliott,Jay,S.Ward & more than anything Terry ‘Notebook’Connor!!!!!
Go away Connor & never come back.
Biggest problem last season was Mick’s righthand man Taff wasn’t with him on the touchline.
All he had was Connor….it reminded me of The Muppets with the two oldies in the balcony!!!!!
More Laugherty a move to the Wolves.
Celtic or Rangers, yes.
I bet Burley are having a ballyfull o loffin with a combined Wolves offer estimated at £2,025,001.00 !
hmmmm….Rangers…Celtic….or Wolves… are we having a laugh or what?
i know a burnley season ticket holder and he said hes a good player, boing boing
Is it really fanciful that a player would pick Wolves over Rangers or Celtic? Don’t forget that Jackie Mac, then Celtic captain turned down their contract offer to join the Wolves and Kenny Miller came down from Rangers when he was breaking through there.
Ha Ha - comparing a winger who can’t score with the Doog - this is why we laugh at you - the over reaction and hype that you guys do EVERY time…. did you learn nothing from the Eastwood saga (remember when he was the new Bully - or was that SEB - oh yes, Freddie was the the new king John…)
So Freddy is John richards, SEB is Bully and Lafferty is the Doog…. I suppose Breen was Billy Wright and Oli is kenny Hibbitt - oh, musn’t for Kightly - he MUST be Waggy.
To compare Burnley’s mediocre winger to one of your greatest ever players shows a lack of respect to the Doog and a complete loss of reality.
Look at yourselves - if you aint fighting each other and splitting your club into pieces you are setting your players and yourselves ridiculous targets that can only end in more disappointment and aggro.
I used to enjoy coming on here and either ribbing you or talking football with some of the “uprights” - but this weird and nasty world you all live in is too depressing.
Bye Bye….
p.s - if you have SEB and Lafferty up front - will they be know as Seberty - BOING !!!
the scottish league is a joke, there playing at league 2 stadard grounds every other week look at the players that leave to go there lee naylor who was absolutely awful for us went there and people thought he should be playing for england!
Benny that would be 2,250,001 you mug.
Happy you really know your Wolves stuff. I would struggle to name one albion player pre 1980 other than Astle, and I would go head to head with anyone in a football quiz.
Only a Wolves fan would get so upset about comparing the Doog to Lafferty, I think youve been found out.
Robbo - actually I know plenty of football fans who don’t support wolves who hold the Doog in great affection - your obvious lack of respect to him, and your lack of knowledge of football in general only highlights the points I made.
i would never compare anyone to Jeff Astle - not Bob Taylor, kev phillips,or anyone… some people are beyond compare.
As for going “head to head” - I think I can name probably 15/20 posters just on these pages who would make you look a mug in a football quiz.
Football wasn’t invented by SKY Sports you know.
Hate it when HB’s right… but he is.
Plus Glam Terry. I recon I’m prettier than you - just smell of fish a bit!
Lafferty must be bought, Elliot isn’t worth 1.75m so just offer the 4m I say, if Morgan wants us to go forward as a club then he shouldn’t mind cashing in, should he?
If you know the knowledge of 15/20 posters on here then you really need to get out more. Spending all your day in front of the computer isnt good for your health.
rite robbo, fust question,in the season 2007/8 which championship club(clue)now premier club, where voted by tv pundits all over the world to be by far the best championship side they had ever seen, they went on to reach the fa cup semi finals at wembley, scoring well over 100 goals in the process, they where crowned championship champions with a convincing 2-0 win at loftus road on the last game of the season, boing boing, you may confer
132,unloyal,he aint got 4million,i got more than him on a tuesday mornin before me giro comes boing boing hurry up postman
Trick question Terry.
There’s no way any pundits would have called them the best team ever when they finished top with the lowest points in recent years. Good try, give me a real one.
134, Yow am funny.
131,prawn
mirror mirror on the wall
whos the prettiest of them all
it must be me as im young free n single
i must be prettier than a dingle
boing boing giz a kiss
kyle lafferty wont score as many goals keogh would. keogh is 10 times better than lafferty if lafferty is accepting to conme to sit on the bench he would be a good signing but we shoodnt drop keogh he plays soo good this season eg coming on at 65 mins against leicester and getin man of the match and sxcoring a double in our thumping fa cup win over watford.
Can’t believe someone suggested you pay £2m + Eastwood for Lafferty, they’re not in the same league!!! Jeez MM really must have stuffed Freddy’s career for someone to post that - as a Shrimper I’m staggered. That’s surely a deal that should work the other way round……
Ha ha. Top man Glam Terry
Only concern is no job and no missus.
What do you do all day????
No no no lets leave it there!
why the hard feelings wolves fans we conceded more goals because of the style of play which was to attack teams, wolves played a more defensive game so inturn conceaded less goals thats why you your goal difference let you down that a fair comment.
another non scoring centre forward just what we need, considering MM was a centrehalf he just does not see we need at least two new centehalfs, either that or move Elokobi.
141,prawn, i look for a job and a missus, and put the odd post on here boing boing do you really smell of fish

ah, lafferty is qaulity, ill give him that, and we should sign him. however, mick wont break the bank to sign him and will only offer ‘little bits’. besides, defense is a main concern, as well as creativity in midfield. kris commons perhaps? although he’s probably off to derby.
well he cant be a replacement for kightly because his good and neather jarvis there both good so he will play upfront i reckon
I think a lot of you think that if we sign another goalscorer Wolves will score as many as Albion did last year. Truth is that MM will always play it cautious and his teams will never score many goals. Once his teams get 1-0 up they try to shut the door.
I think Keogh did really well to get double figures as support striker in a team that doesn’t score goals cause of their cautious style of play.
