Mowbray anxious to get started

wd2764087albion-28-dh-8.jpgAlbion boss Tony Mowbray admits he is keen to get his summer transfer business done and dusted.

The Baggies boss says he would like any new signings in well before his troops kick-off their Premier League return on Saturday, August 16.

Mowbray wants players in as soon as possible to give him maximum time to work with the new arrivals on the training ground.

But the Baggies boss appreciates this may not be possible and is prepared to be patient to capture the right players to bolster his squad.

Albion’s players return for pre-season training on July 3, but the transfer window does not close until the end of August.

“In an ideal world I would like everyone in before pre-season starts so I can do the work with them and bed them in to what we do, how we train and play and how they might fit into the team,” said Mowbray.

“It’s not ideal if they come in late in the window because we’d rather have them in for the start of the season or the start of pre-season but it’s not always easy.

“If you’ve been playing yourself and haven’t been able to take two days out and fly abroad to watch a game it becomes very difficult.”

l Meanwhile, Albion fans were today getting their first chance to get their photograph taken with the Championship trophy.

Baggies supporters can go along to The Hawthorns between today and May 30 to have a professional photograph taken with the historic 120-year-old piece of silverware.

For just £10, supporters will receive one commemorative print in a presentation folder instantly.

Additional copies of the photograph will also cost £10 each.

Who put the dingles in his keep net… super dooper Terry… hope ya mum is feeling better mate.

I’m sure we all remember those two weeks last year when every day saw a new player join us - and whilst I don’t expect anything like that level of activity, don’t be suprised if we suddenley see a few new players coming in all at once…

I for one can’t wait to see ToMo’s “prem” list come into action - last years list was outstanding. I wonder if all the Wolves fans will be posting their “Who” ?? comments as they did last season.

I’m guessing they learned their lesson.

Wolves fans should pop up and get there photos taken as it isn’t going to happen for them while Mick McCarthy is at the helm, is it ?
Just bought my fishing licence as I am also bored with no football and need some down time. Even if I don’t catch I can still smile after the season we have had.
Do they do a Baggies fishing umbrella to advertise the fact we won the Championship this year ?

    5 Happy.
You are joking if you think they’ve learnt anything from last year. We’ve already had the players leaving posts. That lot will never learn.
Welcome home TRB. It hasn’t been the same without you.

Think TM needs to get at least one 2-3 million deal in a.s.a.p. Hopefully this will let everyone know we mean buisness and also attract other players. Perhaps Shittu from Watford or a decent striker.
