Albion are set to post record season ticket sales – with demand so high the club have a 1,100-strong waiting list.
The Baggies have already sold nearly 20,000 season tickets for their eagerly-awaited Premier League return after a two-year absence. Albion’s record for season ticket sales was 20,500 in 2004-05, but with 5,000 made available to new applicants already sold out and only 1,800 of last season’s 16,000 holders yet to renew, that marker will be smashed.
Seats are reserved until Friday, May 30 (1pm), after which any seats will be made available to season ticket holders wanting to relocate.
Any seats still left will go to fans on the waiting list and these will be contacted from early June, and only if there are any left over, will they go on general sale.
Finance director Mark Jenkins said: “We’re absolutely delighted with the way season ticket sales have gone.
“Our early bird prices proved extremely popular – even before our promotion had been confirmed.
“We believe the fact so many supporters have added their names to our waiting list shows we’ve got our pricing structure right and that the fans have a lot of faith in Tony Mowbray and his management team.
“We now want to send out a clear message to any 2007-08 season ticket holders who are still planning to renew: Don’t miss the renewal deadline.
“If they do, their seat will be freed up to supporters on the waiting list and they will risk missing out on a season ticket altogether.”
The cheapest adult prices are £399, £149 (under-16s), £229 (under-18s/students), £269 (senior citizens) and £199 (disabled supporters).
Existing season ticket holders can renew via the upgraded Albion Online Ticketing at the club’s official website, www.wba.co.uk or by contacting the East Stand box office in person, by phone (call 0871 271 9780) or post.
To renew by post, supporters will need to collect a 2008-09 season ticket brochure and application form from the box office, or download a copy at www.wba.co.uk

Meanwhile, Albion have been linked with a move for former Everton keeper Richard Wright.

Good for business but we all know the prawn sandwich brigade are never far from this type of publicity and glory hunter fans that now realise our team is in the prem will further snap up all tickets and IF we get relegated then they will all resort back to supporting man utd and chelski

Its not actually rocket science the young kids etc want to see the rooneys,lampards,fabregace and gerrards of this world. so they buy a season ticket to see these stars up close.
we all know we are going to see our team lose more often than we win next season but its still the glamour of the premier league that gets people to buy tickets

A lot of Manchester United fans in the Midlands.They would be buying up your season tickets so they get a chance to see United.They’ll be selling tickets for the games they don’t want to see on E-Bay.

Attending football matches and supporting your team is an expensive business. When you buy anything you balance whether it is going to be value for money, many fans now feel that under Mowbray and his wonderful squad of players and i might add playing against some of the best players in the world it is now value for money.
I for one will not get on any tall horses and berate fans for putting money into the club and supporting the boys, lets face it we all moan when the attendances are low, not nuch chance of that next season.

The Albion season ticket is a stilecard, there are no ‘tickets’ to sell on ebay, that situation could only happen to wolves, in the unlikely scenario that wolves could reach the premiership.
I don’t think this is just because of Premiership football its also down to sensible pricing and TM’s positive approach to football. A packed out Hawthorns will help win games. It’s exciting.
I have bought 4 season ticket for our family. We attended about 10 home and away games last season but have taken the plunge for next season. Mowbray deserves full backing for the way he goes about his business. I can’t wait to see one of his teams take on these prem stars. It’s mouth watering. All this stuff about where were you when………. it’s a load of rubbish
We’ve always supported the Baggies and attended games through each season, but value for money is a real issue. Not that many can blindly splash money out too freely.

Just you worry whether Hennessey goes to join him. If he goes, he goes, there’s nothing anyone can do about it. The sad bit for him is he may not play too often but he’ll no doubt cheer up as he will double his salary. C’est la vie! We shall get an adequate replacement no problem.
Not sure if there is any truth in the Gera rumour. I’m not saying he has definitly not gone but I’ve checked both the Albion and Everton website and there’s nothing there.
However, there’s a few Baggies fans think he’s gone too, so it may be true. I would just take it with pinch of salt for now until we hear from a more reliable source.
If he does go, good luck to him. He has, without doubt, been the best and most committed player we’ve had at this club for many a long year.

7. you don’t understand modern football finances. Its about TV money these days. The £60million minimum coming into the club will more than cover the wage bill. Season ticket revenue is a small-beer by comparison, to put it in perspective if wolves stay in the Championship they’d have to sell 150,000 season tickets to get £60million (about 9 seasons worth!), though the £8million or so for season tickets the Baggies will receive might come in handy if we want to buy Hennessey, SEB and Kightly for our reserves. Shame you’ve not got anyone good enough to replace Gera, but we’ve had our money’s worth (especially his goal at the Mol.) and will buy a better player. Never mind , you’ll probably get promoted next year, after all you’ve got the best players in the league (LOL)
