We’ve had the Flying Dorito – now enter the Inverted Meat Dish. Both, if you believe eye witnesses, are aliens from another planet visiting the West Midlands.
And such is their importance that the latter alleged sighting has appeared on the Ministry Of Defence’s own X Files, which were released to the public for the first time this week.
In 1981 a policeman reported something odd hovering above Wolverhampton’s New Cross Hospital.
He said it was about two-ft long and 18ins wide and like an “inverted meat dish flying through the air”. He said it had an 18-inch arm descending underneath.
His report made its way to the Ministry of Defence, where it was filed away and forgotten until this week.
In December people
In March 2006 a report was made to the MoD of “a UFO doing funny sharp turns” over a field in Walsall. In December of the same year, an unexplained white light was over Dudley.
Malcolm Robinson, of Strange Phenomena Investigations (SPI), said Wolverhampton was a “UFO hotspot” and: “Sightings of crafts similar to the one over New Cross Hospital have been seen across the world, it does not just stand alone.”
“What we have to do as researchers is contact the police, local airports and flying clubs etc to try and find a rational explanation.
“Ninety five per cent of cases have a natural identifiable solution, it is that remaining five per cent that we don’t understand.
“It is not before time that these documents are released and we are finding Wolverhampton to be what we call a UFO hotspot or window area. The MoD treated this files very seriously and I would just ask your readers to keep an open mind.” The MoD released files as it transferred them to the National Archives.

Your story about the Flying Dorito, This picture looks (and probably is) the ‘Aurora’, which is supposed to be a highly classified U.S. military spy plane (replacement for the SR71 Blackbird and U2), which flyies using scramjets rather than ordinary engines. It’s supposed to be a secret (which everyone already knows about. In light of events around the world, it would not be unreasonable to believe that the U.S. will want to put this aircraft through its paces. After all until it crashed, everyone knew about the F114 Stealth Fighter, but the U.S. Government didn’t acknowledge it’s existance until the TV camera’s showed up at the crash scene. It is my belief that the ‘Aurora’ has been seen by members of the british public in the sky’s over Britain but mistakenly thought to be an extraterrestrial U.F.O.
mmm ufo ??? i saw this a few weeks ago over penn i think it was a low flying aircraft on its way to birm airport in the mist of the morning it did look loke the pics you have with the lights etc
People always see what they want to see - not what it actually is! If they don’t want to believe that it could be nothing then they will always scream ‘its a UFO’ when the truth is that its more than likely an aeroplane from a funny angle or a helicopter with a search light.
HERE WE GO AGAIN UTTER RUBBISH !!!
