Bouma’s ready to sign on

Wilfred BoumaWilfred Bouma is hopeful of signing a new deal with Villa after revealing he’s playing the best football of his career under Martin O’Neill.

The 29-year-old former PSV defender’s contract runs out next month but both club and player are keen to invoke a 12-month option and at least a year beyond.

“In my three years we have gone from 16th to 11th to sixth which is a massive improvement,” said Bouma, who was an ever present for Villa this season. My performances have gone the same way as well.

“The extension to my contract is already there and there. I think we will get it sorted.”

    From a Villa fan who lives in Canada I think the club is now so full of potential it’s electrifing . As for G Barry I hope he realises that Liverpool is not the “honey pot” and sitting on the bench is a real scenario under their manager !
