Villa are a team on the up where as Liverpool are a club in turmoil if Barry left us to join a club where quite frankly he will end up a bit part player then i am sure it will be a huge regret…I will say this we need to make a few big signings to show our intent but i am a firm believer in that Gareth will stay

Tough decision.. Happiness, respect, loyalty and integrity takes time too establish. At the same time who wouldn`t consider a future with bigger challenges. Anyway it depends on his final view of what`s the biggest challenge for him.

With two years left on his contract why don’t we offer Gareth an atractive compromise? Stay for at least another year and let Martin and Randy prove the villa revolution has really begun, but if that fails to materialise, he’d be welcome to leave. I for one believe that staying around and acting as crucial piece in the jigsaw, would ensure him a legendary status for the future. When money is no longer the driving factor in life, it’s status, reputation and self worth which gets you out of bed in the morning. One club heroes are extremely rare these days. Think Billy Wright and Bobby Charlton:Men who will never be forgotton. Men whose families will always recieve a special welcome. Gareth please make sure you preserve your place in this bright future!
