Families have no power for 18 hours

lightbulb.jpgA second day of power cuts in Lichfield saw more than 50 people left without electricity almost the entire day.

The power went out in areas of London Road, Shortbutts Lane, Marsh Lane and The Paddock at around 5.35am yesterday morning, affecting 57 houses.

Some were left without power until 11pm last night.

Central Networks said the power cut was caused by a fuse blowing at a sub station.

Press officer Deanna Mooney said: “Supplies went off at 5.35am yesterday which affected 57 customers.

“Originally only 25 customers were affected but it went up because we had to isolate supplies to make effective repairs.

“All supplies were back on by 11pm, and we would like to apologise to everyone.”
