Neil Warnock is weighing up a summer move for Wolves misfit striker Freddy Eastwood – if Crystal Palace stay in the Championship.
Palace boss Warnock, who has won four promotions, is currently involved in another play-off scrap with Bristol City and bidding to overturn a 2-1 semi-final deficit to reach Wembley for football’s richest game.
Coventry are already preparing to make a renewed pitch for the 24-year-old, who was slapped on the transfer list last week just a year after signing for £1.5m.
Warnock is understood to have been monitoring Eastwood for some time and could launch a summer raid for the former Southend striker.
But it is likely the former Sheffield United boss will only move for the striker if Palace fail to win the play-offs.
Coventry were prepared to pay £1.5m for Eastwood so Wolves could get their money back, but it’s likely they will start the bidding at a considerably lower price after failure to establish himself at Molineux.
Eastwood scored three goals in 31 League appearances for Wolves, although 21 of those games were as a substitute.
And while Mick McCarthy is more than happy to see Freddy go he has vowed there is ‘no chance’ any of his other young stars leaving in the summer despite growing rumours of Premier League interest.
Kevin Foley followed Wayne Hennessey, Michael Kightly and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake in becoming the latest player to be linked with a move to the top flight yesterday when reports said Sunderland were lining up a £2.5m bid for the right-back.
Reported interest in Foley comes after Villa and Everton regularly watched Hennessey, Blackburn eyed Kightly and Everton having weighed up a move for Ebanks-Blake.
And McCarthy said he would give short shrift to any potential suitors.
“I haven’t had any calls about them,” he said. “For now we want those players here and there’s no chance they will leave. They’re all under contract and as far as I’m aware, they’re all settled and there’s no issue.”

Somehow this will really wind up the wolves fans if freddy goes to palace and plays for him! Keogh is setting himself up for a fall critisising the booing fans, as sadly they have the most vocal approat to supporting the players at a game.. thsu may be atartget for them soon.

7) The article says that they will try and sign him if they stay in the Championship. We must try and get the £1.5 million back in any case. He has not had the chances of others - 10 starts sums that up - but is first choice for Wales, so we must not sell cheaply.

I agree with you with regard to the moaners we have far to many, as for encouraging our young players to leave this is also wrong. We have a lot to be thankful for and proud of. Our academy is first class and I am sure will produce a lot of future talent.
also 6. oceanwolf the manager and keogh are only saying what a lot of people say on this website day in and day out, there are certain sections of our support who seem to moan now matter what. Sometimes the fans are wrong they are not always right as some of the fans on here seem think. They also deserve criticsm
In what state do you want our club to be in, like Leicester with a chairman who constantly sacks his managers, or clubs like Sheff Wed, Southampton or Coventry ex premiership clubs who are skint or even Birmingham City with a board who are disinterested and want to get out and who have sold less than 5000 season tickets for next season.
Wolves are none of the above, we have a chairman who wants stability, he is ambitious and we have a chief executive who has worked hard not to bankrupt the club with sensible financial decisions.
What we lack is unity and until we have unity there will always be a negative air about the club we had in 2006/7 and look what happened we a great season narrowly missing out in the play offs for us to get up next season we need that same level of unity.
What ever our personal views on the manager, some of the players, Jez Moxey or the chairmen these are the people who are in place to take our great club forward whether we like it or not.

some of what i watched last year (at every game bar a couple) was dreadful boring unimaginative long ball football coupled with the comedy defensive stylings of collins - i never boo at a game but people must appreciate that we did not play well for a long time
so to have a go at people for not being satisfied with mediocre football is out of order, especially if they voice it here rather than at the ground

When people are paying good money week in week out then they are entitled to an opinion, preferably at the final whistle or on discussion boards. For Mccarhty to come out and say he doesnt care about negative letters he recieves is ignorance itself. Keoghs comments were a shocker, im not saying he is useless but if he had finished some of the easy chances he got throughout the season we would have been in the playoffs. Some of Mccarthys tactical decisions this season were laughable and i just hope that he spends money wisely on decent defenders unlike ward. Unity is something that will come if we make a decent start to the season, if we dont then mccarthy will be gone and the summer would have been a waste of time.

I think I can see where you were coming from with your post (I’m sure you don’t want our best players to leave) The ‘Mick out Freddy for ever brigade’ will always try to out-shout supporters with a conflicting opinion. What surprises me is that some of our fans can’t see what Mick is building; we have a nucleus of very good young players. A partial clearout has been signalled and we wait with baited breath for the new signings. For the record MM’s Sunderland team steam-rollered our division in their promotion year with fast, passing, football but the board failed to back him with investment in his Premiership season. No one stays in the prem without investment. I don’t agree with booing the team but I will defend the right of any of our fans (not the wind up merchants from down the road!) to boo or to criticise, at the right time, in the right way and in the right place, and will argue vociferously that any one paid by the club should never, ever criticise fans for demonstrating their disappointment.

He was the most consitant player through the hoel of2007/08 so ow can you say he is worse than little. on the freddy issue i feel so sorry for him as it muist drive him mad sittin on the bench with the hole of the south bank chanting his nme. i wish he could stay bt i think he shoul go for his own benifit!!!!!!! good luck freddy wherever you are next season!!! Foley is slow and cannot tackle (take another look at Stokes last goal at Mol in March - typical Foley defending))- I felt last summer when we signed him the £600k we paid would have been better spent elsewhere on the team and if someone is really offering over £2million we should take it. Mark Little is one of the players who played well in 2006-7 yet he wasn’t given a chance in 2007-8. One of many reasons we have gone backwards (only my opinion of course but there you go!). Incidently - living where I do I happen to know several Luton season ticket holders who thought that Edwards would be a good signing but Foley was not worth half of what we paid for him.
We know he has talent and has had a useless season. Thats a fact! Mick didn’t handle him very well but surely just put him out on loan somewhere for next season, or even half and let him get some confidence back. The bring him back and he will be so much better. Simple really!
Little? Totally out of his depth, culminating in one of the most inept displays I’ve ever seen againsy Plymouth last year! The only other similar performance I have seen in that position was Collins this year.
