The work of a group whose striking black and white photography was “frozen out” of the Western art world by the Cold War, is on display in Wolverhampton.
The artists are virtually unknown in Britain and their use of a stark documentary style developed under the constant scrutiny and censorship of the secret police in East Germany and in isolation from Western art.
Video journalist Victoria Hoe went along for a sneak preview.
