Rider killed in crash on his street

Ian BoxA motorcyclist has died after crashing into a wall which then fell on him in the Walsall street where he lived.

Ian Box was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering serious head and chest injuries following the accident in Harrison Street.    

His devastated mother today Mary paid tribute to her “well-loved and popular” son.

The 20-year-old who worked for demolition firm Armoury had used a friend’s bike to return home to put on sun lotion yesterday morning she said.

But as he set off on his return to work in Bloxwich he was in the crash which saw him trapped beneath the bike and rubble.

His brother Wayne, 22, was one of the first on the scene and stayed with his brother until paramedics arrived.    

His family, including father Norman and sisters Sheree and Karen and fiancee Samantha Pitt , say they have been inundated with messages of support and sympathy.
