Two found guilty of murders

Andrew OwenTwo illegal immigrants from Wolverhampton who killed two men during a string of violent robberies across the Black Country and Shropshire were this afternoon found guilty of murder.

Victims were held in suffocating headlocks during the attacks. The robbers initially targeted women laden with shopping but later switched their focus to men.

The ambition and ferocity of the attacks increased as the campaign continued and killed Sedgley father-of-five Andrew Owen and Neil Williams, of Telford.

Gabriel Bhengu, aged 27, of Court Road, Newbridge, had denied two counts of murder and five of robbery but were found guilty of them all. Jabu Mbowane, aged 26, also of Court Road, Newbridge, denied two counts of murder and four robbery but was found guilty.

Bhengu’s girlfriend Kashia Allen, 22, of Crosby Close, Farndale, was cleared of the murder of Mr Owen but found guilty of his manslaughter.
