Albion are first on friendly list

Walsall have confirmed the first of their pre-season friendlies. Premier League new boys West Bromwich Albion will be the first visitors of the pre-season to the Banks’s Stadium on Tuesday, August 5.

Kick-off is at 7.45 pm and admission prices for the game will be announced in due course.

Saddlers have announced a further friendly against League Two Port Vale, who are managed by former Walsall defender, Lee Sinnott, on Saturday, August 2 at 3pm.

Meanwhile, the club have agreed to provide the opposition for Bloxwich United AFC’s first-ever game under their new name.

This match will take place at The Old Red Lion Ground, Somerfield Road on Friday, July 11(kick-off 7.45pm) and will be Walsall’s first game of the pre-season schedule.

    Unless we have actually got any players signed by then, it will be a bit like my old Sunday league team when we couldn’t get 11 “decent” players sometimes; and your hopeless fat mate, the funny cross eyed lad and the strange bloke who nobody knew but turned up every week had to play !!…and we usually lost 13-0. Looking gorward to August already !..Up The Saddlers !
