Scots call up for Morrison

James MorrisonAlbion midfielder James Morrison could final make his international debut this month after being recall to the Scotland squad.

Morrison has been included in George Burley’s party for the friendly with the Czech Republic in Prague on May 30.

And the ex-Middlesbrough man, who will be 22 five days before the game, will be hoping to earn his first cap after recovering from injury to take his place on the bench for Sunday’s title-clinching win at QPR.

The £1.5m summer signing, who played for England up to under-20s level but qualifies for Scotland through his grandparents, was called up for last August’s friendly against South Africa. But he was injured and was then overlooked for a training camp in February.

Albion striker Craig Beattie has been left out of Burley’s latest squad despite making his comeback from injury on loan to Preston in the final two matches of the season.

Villa’s Shaun Maloney and Birmingham’s James McFadden are both included along with former Wolves striker Kenny Miller.

Fully desrved. The guy was a premiership player in waiting. Well the wait is now over and, at 22, can only get better.

Great reward for a great season.

Considering he was getting used to a new team and style of play - plus he had a terrible injury, he has been excellent.

I can’t wait to see him in the prem - he won’t look out of place at all.

21, or 22, he has plenty of time to get better than he already is. I think he has come on better as the season has progressed and TM has played him in the right position at the right time amongst the right players. I love that Tony Mowbray, not in a gay way but I love him.

    James Beattie??
    When did we sign him??
    Is it Craigs brother??
Yes today i like question marks, or do i??

I keep forgetting Morrison is so young, baby faced assasin. Another great player stolen from Borough, i hear they are letting Rochembach go this summer, we may as well have him to, to go with Greening (what a steal) and Morrison. If Borough want to give us their best players so be it.

As you all quite rightly post, congrats and well deserved for Morrison.

On a different subject as we for some reason cannot post on transfer specualtion, I think Beye would be another fantastic acquistition, obviously at the moment it’s another bit of specualtion, but I think Beye is an excellent right back.

Best of all is the feeling of hysteria I get when I see a Wolves top! I think this feeling will run for some time to come, that is if MM stays in charge at the Wolves.
