Baggies bosses today rejected calls for an open-top bus tour which would allow fans to hail their Premier League-bound heroes.
Albion fans are devastated by the decision which is in stark contrast to Stoke City’s parade tonight.
Stoke have secured second place but want to thank their fans.
Thousands are expected to line the route as The Potters celebrate their return to the top flight.
Former Albion Fan of the Year Terry Wills said: “I am bitterly disappointed.
“I was hoping there would be a change of heart because we won the Championship.
“It’s 88 years since we last won a championship, and not many Albion fans can remember that. We’ve held civic receptions in the past when we’ve finished runners-up, and now we’ve won it and we’re not holding one. Stoke are having one, and they finished behind us.
“We can appreciate that the players want a rest, and we have to abide by their decision because they’ve given us a wonderful season but we are just disappointed we can’t show our appreciation.”
Sandwell Council leader Bill Thomas confirmed that the club had notified the council to say it did not want an official reception.
He said: “I am sure it is disappointing for the fans, but I suppose it is understandable.
“It has been a very long and hard season, and as a lot of the players are foreign, they no doubt want to get home and see their families before getting back for pre-season training in preparation for the Premier League.
“We were more than prepared to go along with the celebrations but at the end of the day, we are in the hands of the club.
“All I can say is that if the club does have a change of heart about a civic reception, then we are all ready to go along with it.”
No-one at West Bromwich Albion was available for comment today.

Well if thats what they choose then I won’t argue although it would of been a fun night, the loyal fans that wanted to show there support & appreciation were there during the 46 games this season at some point.
GUTTED!!!
Really disappointed with this decision, though Sunderland did the same thing last year.
Never mind, I’ve been celebrating every day since we secured promotion against Southampton, and will be wearing my Albion shirt with pride this Summer!
I think its an awful decision. Not all the baggie fans who have
supported the lads all year could get to the last game, also theres
the fans who cant get to games at all, so when do we get to see the
lads with the cup - surely it would be a fitting tribute by the
players/manager/directors to the fans to take half a day out of their
busy schedule to have some kind of civic reception. Yes i agree they
have had a long hard season, but most of us have long hard weeks at
work every week and then pay top money to see the Albion’s matches.
At the last home game you could hardly see the players because of the
clowns running onto the pitch.
If thats not enough Stoke are all over the TV tonght at their civic
reception. The braodcasting and overall press for us going up has
been absoutley disgracefel.
I’m very very disappointed - bloody awful.
Ellen.
Shocking…Im sure for 5grand a week or whatever they get paid a few more days in England would not have hurt.
Winning the title is enough for me….
WELL DONE BAGGIE BOYS !!!
Its a shame that the Albion are not going to hold a civic reception. When will the fans unable to travel to QPR on Sunday but have followed them all season get to see the Albion lift the trophy? It could be a once in a lifetime opportunity, I respect the players and managers decision but I feel cheated at not being able to see the trophy close up.
Not good PR from the club.
Highly disappointing.
This is very very disappointing. What about all the fans who couldn’t get a ticket for QPR on Sunday? Or even the fans that can’t afford to go to a game at all… A very sour note to a magnificent season. Come on Mr Peace listen to the fans, don’t we matter anymore? The very least you could do is let the fans have an evening at the Hawthorns with the trophy paraded around the ground… Charge a few quid and give the proceeds to Dave Heeleys fund for guide dogs, or give the players the gate money - as it appears they have forgotten where they have come from and who they play for at this special club…
forget it and move on, sure its a shcok that we wont be flaunting it in the faces of the press, but we have always been a classy club, im with the baggies board on this decision. i can imagine how tough it would be to say no.
the press have never liked us anyway, so why give them any time.
Followed them all year and went to QPR but still wanted to enjoy the celebration at the Parade, and see the cup again. Very disappointed indeed at this decision
Terrible decision by the club. Its not likely there’ll be another chance to do this so we should take the opportunity. Can’t beleive the players wouldn’t want to. I met them at a sponsors dinner last week, they are all really nice and so happy to be going up. Bad decision I hope they reverse it.
Poor form!
Well mr peace always lets us down at some point during the season! but as sunderland did the same last season, the main achievment will staying up next season i guess. well done baggies!!
Cant believe that, you would think they would want to thank the fans for there support And let the fans collectively embrace the occasion. Stoke are a much smaller club than the Albion and also have over seas players that want to go home but there doing it for there fans.
I love the boys for what they acheived but come on Albion one more show would’nt of hurt.
what a let down west bromwich albion im really p)))ed off
Utterly disappointed, especially for the fans who couldn’t be at QPR to see them lift the trophy! Maybe they might re-think & realise that it is bad PR, WE ARE CHAMPIONS and we would like to say thank you & applaud the Manager, the players and the club, who have given us a tremendous season. If this doesn’t happen, SEE YOU AUGUST LADS!!! Boing Boing
It’s a strange decision from the club being as we have held them in the past, Sunderland did the same thing and it hasn’t done them any harm. Can’t say i’m not disappointed but I’ll get over it, could have been worse we could have missed out by one goal imagine how that would have felt……………….
Boing Boing
Best not to celebrate, you’ll be getting whipped every week in a couple of months
Not too bothered about a parade. Surely we have to push on now. We’ve been promoted before and celebrated. Let’s concentrate on keeping the club there. Give the players a long break they deserve it. Come along to the games next season and show the players what it means. Let’s face it the Hawthorns has not exactly been packed to the rafters this season so the people who are complaining make sure that you are there next season.
Disgrace!!! And the national press yesterday was appauling. Anybody would think Stoke won the league! Nevermind
Boing Boing!!!
to be honest this is a disgrace!
i’ve been there for EVERY home game this year, and couldn’t get a ticket for QPR…why am i and other baggies being treated like this, i want to celebrate with the players and watch them lift the trophy….very disapointed with the club
Considering the last game was away and not at the Hawthorns I would have thought this was common sense to have a Parade. Maybe the shocking press coverage has put them off. Even the E&S put photos of the dingles first on the same set as the trophy presentation. There really was no need. We have won something for the first time in 40 years and the press show nothing but contempt. Coverage on Sky and ITV / BBC has been abysmal.
Nevertheless those at the club who have worked so hard all season deserve the thanks and praise from the fans and also the opportunity to enjoy a break with their families in whatever country they choose.
Let’s not forget that the status of Champions 2007/8 will be there for the fans to remember and cherish long after those players and even ToMo have gone.
So to those at West Brom from steward to playing staff - THANK YOU FOR A GREAT SEASON and WELL DONE. Truely a club and a team to be proud of. Let’s have more of the same next year in the Prem.
Proud to be a Baggie
AMS
Got to be honest i am a little surprised, surely the club want to do something to mark the acheivement. I can appreciate the players want to get their holidays in, but why cant we make it a non compulsary for the players?
Tell you what give me the trophy and i will take it down the Sportsman and then the vine, i promise to bring it back honest. No need for a bus i will walk!!!
Gave up my season ticket last year as the club seemed to have the attitude of me , me ,me. Have been to some games this year and thought the club had turned the corner in PR. How wrong!!! well done Albion, good job you didnt score that many own goals this season.
Thought for next season, Come on you Walsall…
Well I didn’t go to the last one, I thought a ‘coming second’ parade was OTT, but we’ve won a significant trophy for the first time in 40 years. I understand that such celebrations can be viewed as a ‘job done’ statement by the club, when clearly establishing ourselves in the Premiership will be ‘job done’. Does this mean we will never have another civic reception unless we win the Premiership, FA Cup, or Champions League ? Could be a long wait.
I am gutted no parade I am leaving for Australia in 2 months and would have loved to celebrate winning the championship with other baggie fans. It would have a lasting memory.
Perhaps we can take it round Wolverhampton instead???….Show them what a Trophy looks like..
There would be riots if the same ever happened at the Wolves.! May be they are worried no one would turn up?
C’mon - crikey it’s only the championship we’ve won. Big effort and all that, but a civic reception would be over the top, nice for the fans but ultimately we’ve won the old second division - not the Chapions League. Save the jollies for the time when we win something truly worthwhile. The hard work starts now.
bit dissappointed to be perfectly honest with you, but understand players want to go home and not best to do on a schoolnight!!! anyway.. but have to agree with other comments thought the coverage on tv and papers has all been about stoke this and stoke that. who finsihed CHAMPIONS us or them?? poor coverage from E&S as well last night and CENTRAL NEWS, 10mins on stoke and 10 seconds on the albion,, get your priorities right…WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS- going up and staying up.
I think the attitude from the board is that the job is not done and a parade gives the impression that it is…. This is being seen as the start of a bright future so I understand where the decision has come from…
Would rather the players went of on the hols and came back early to prepare for the prem… And I am sure that is what ToMo is thinking
What’s all this about a disgrace!!
Get a grip Baggie fans. Missing out on a p*** up is all you’re probably concerned about.
Well I suppose it gives some fans something to moan about.
It’s a great achievement getting back in the prem and with the style we’ve shown but come on everyone, this is our third promotion.
It’s embarassing having an open top bus tour every time. Lets save that for when we really achieve something.
bloody disgracefull
Well I was at QPR to see them lift the trophy but still disappointed by that!!! Was looking forward to it and some folks who’ve supported them at home all season won’t have seen them with the trophy at all…
A pity the club are not having a parade
but with flights and holidays already booked the players need to get away and recharge themselves for the likes of Man U & Chelsea,
It ain`t gonna be easy next season by a long shot
if its not enough that stoke are plastered all over the news papers tv ect ect they were only runners up anyone would think they had won thge premier league :@
and now this, it as really pi**ed me off
i have followed the albion to every match this season home and away i was at qpr to see us lift the trophy but it would have rounded it all off with an open top bus.
33) so you dont think winning the league has champions which we havent dont for 88 yrs is not an achievement
One Of the proudest moments of the club and we cant join in the celebrations i could guarantee our chairman had something to do with it hopefully he will sell up and we can get some players who are proven and will keep us up (also i have had alot of people come and tell me kev phillips is on his way to wolves, as much as i hope this doesnt happen im sure they would offer him an extra year on his contract) personally i want Jeremy Peace out of our club
19. you wont have to worry about that, you wont never get there.
It’s job done and we are champions of the fizzy pop league but why was there all that hype from the club about wanting to finish top of the league? The Club’s Management doesn’t seem that bothered now we have. Makes me think they were never really bothered. I wonder if they’ll be all that bothered if we don’t manage to keep in the Prem. Guess we’ll all find out when the firing and hiring is over. Get the cheque book out Peace.
I’m disappointed - but I’l get over it.
I will look forward to seeing the trophy at a pre season game where we all (who bother to go) get the chance to applaud them.
They owe me (and you lot) nothing after the season we have had - if thats not quite enough for some people then I don’t know what you all expect.
There are even people who don’t go to games saying its disgraceful. What IS disgraceful is not going to any games and then getting your snout in for a wembley ticket - or demanding an open top bus !!
I know its funny to say it - but we are attracting the flaming glory hunters now.
39. C’mon now John, you’ve got what you wanted, a bit of silverware so calm down, all this talk of ousting the backroom staff you’re starting to sound like us dingles. I thought that this was a super club you supported. Anyway let’s look to the future aye! you’ve got Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea to look forward to and Mowbray is relishing the task, so come on chin up lad if this gets you down imagine how you’ll be feeling at Xmas!
Only kidding!!!
Words like “disgrace” are a little extreme. Come on chaps, if you are upset by not being able to wave and shout at a bus, wait for the Number 74 and wave at that. Promotion was the target, it was achieved in front of the home fans. Winning the title was wonderful, but it has been done, so move on. Negative comments about the chairman are also out of order. Good that he or someone has thought of the players.
This is a real bone of contention,
and i`m afraid i will get splinters in my rear end.
A parade would be great for the fans and the area,
i well remember the one after the Port Vale
playoff win……great scenes and a great night.
I do however, understand the clubs reluctance,
TM is clearly a very modest man, and in true ToMo
fashion……….i would suggest, he feels promotion as the first step up a very steep hill,
and Albion are taking tentative strides to where
we all want them to be.
John (39) i wouldn`t be so quick to blame JP,
i have a feeling it`s a club joint decision.
First of all congratulations to the manager and the playing staff for giving us the fans a fanatastic season to remember. On the issue of the open top bus tour i think the club have done the dirty on the fans once again, why do albion always have to find some way of upsetting the supporters. I have been a season ticket holder for 20 years now and have been to all the run down grounds when we were in division 2 (the old 3rd division) also been to a lot of the big grounds in the premier league. All the fans want to see is the trophy being paraded around west bromwich so we can have a proper celebration for winning the league and the first major trophy for 40 years(not that mickey mouse trophy we got for winning the playoffs).
29. Yeah have to agree with you rioting though it’s not a big deal to us! Imagine if wolves EVER won anything again?? Na won’t happen.. Boing Boing
What a disgraceful end to a wonderful season!!
I have been to every home game this season and couldnt get a ticket for qpr. i couldn’t believe what little coverage their was on the t.v. following our win and us lifting the trophy but as i thought their would be a parade i didnt worry. Now their isn’t going to be a parade and i feel disappointed and let down by the club. Surely the players and staff know how much this means to everyone and i cant see how 1 evening of celebrations with supporters will affect there summer break. I know they have worked hard, but 1 night wouldnt be too much to ask, would it??
Mowbray says he wants a team to play in the premier league that will make supporters proud? How will he ever know how proud we are of our club, if the club dont allow the fans time to celebrate this seasons achievments!!
Sad Baggies Fan Amy.
Not a disgrace at all, we’ve won promotion great, but the hard work only just begins, let’s have some realism fellow baggies fans
i bet they had a few days partying after Sat.
Not very good PR boys.Only asking for one afternoon from you..
I think there should be a celebration event anyway. All the baggie fans get together on a beautiful day like today, painted faces, wearing our colours, singing till our throats hurt! Sounds fab!
stupid…..
goes to show how much they love the fans
Look i have told you, i will be putting myself forward to take the Cup round the local boozers so all the fans can have a look, whose up for coming with me???
I will not be telling them that on Sunday i managed to lose, a t-shirt, programme, and the wife!!!
If anyone finds either the t-shirt or programme give me a shout!!!
I cant say I am that bothered! I reckon there’s something behind the decision though! probably a previous argument about sponsorship, planning, policing or something and the baggies board dont see why the council should get any Kudos out of their success!
And then the board arent really interested in the fans. Especially as they are in the premiership and have a waiting list for season tickets!
Happy - Not for the first time mate you are spot on!!!
I agree that the National Press response to us WINNING the Championship has been a disgrace and that has annoyed me more than not having a parade!!
The Boys and the whole club have done a fantastic job this season and I will bask in the glory for the rest of the summer. Well done for a truley memorable season, I have loved it!!!
Can’t wait until August!!! Up the Baggies!!
i just feel that there are people out there like myself who are season ticket holders but couldnt go to the game on sunday (through family commitment) and would have loved to see the trophy paraded, but hey - come on we should know by now not to expect things from our boys/management as it may never happen and it isnt and im damn well disappointed. but ill get over it too - but there is one thing - i wont forget!!
23 ams thank you at last some one remembers the stewards at the club
a hard job to do sometimes but can be fun as well.
thanks to all the well behaved fans
see u next season
Bomber.. It could be a problem if you wife was wearing the t-shirt and holding the programme!!!! lol
I have to say i’m dissappointed. it the clubs attitude. I couldn’t get a ticket for QPR on Sunday, which means I didn’t get to see the trophy and celebrate with the players. Ijust think it shows a lack of respect to the majority of supporters who due to ticket restrictions could not be there on Sunday. It is a shame as this decision has tainted what has been a very good weekend for Albion supporters.
Only kidding, do you really think i would have taken the wife in the first place!!!
I did lose a t-shirt and programme though!!
thanks for supporting the club all thru the season, your money is well welcome, we have now won the championship and earned loads of money so …….. bye…. you still here…
A high profie pre season friendly against Ajax will b arranged in mid july.£10 adults quid for kids.the champinship trophy will paraded then. That wouldnt surprise me at all.
Not for the first time I agree with HB. If there had been a parade I’d have gone and enjoyed it but I’m sure the trophy will be on show at a pre season game and the real fans attend those and will therefore get the chance to acknowledge it. I see this decision as similar to the England cricket team winning the Ashes. Open top bus tours, MBE’s and then nothing. Real winners, like the Aussie cricket team set there sights on winning the next thing in line not resting on their laurels.
I have my doubts whether 39 John is a Baggie or an undercover Dingle. Anyone knocking JP after this season should have been around in the 70’s, 80’s or 90’s. Perhaps some of our newer supporters have become spoilt by the comparative success in recent times.
Very disappointed with the club’s decision on an open top parade, my grandson would have loved it, as i’m sure every junior Baggie would, have a rethink JP.
I have to agree with the media coverage yesterday, both national & local, an absolute disgrace especially local BBC & ITV. Perhaps they’ll make up for it tonight after the holiday.
If Terry Wills is unhappy with the decision, then I’m very happy with it.
Let the players go off on holiday, no point keeping them back to wave at drunks from a bus.
What an absolute let down. West Brom need to remember the loyal fans who stuck with them through all of their “Ups & Downs”. They also need to remember the working man who pays to go and see them play. This is one night out of the whole season and surely, this is the only way to show some thanks and respect to the people who helped put them there. Baggies fans are known for being extremely vocal and there is now doubt in my mind that their fantastic support has gone some way to spurring them on. As far as earning a “well earned rest” is concerned, tell that to the Foundryman saving hard each year for his ticket.
I’m sure it’s a considered decision by West Brom. If it gives us a better chance in the Premier League then fans should accept it.
We have to stay in the Premier League.
Slightly disappointing decision really, the fans would’ve liked their chance to say thanks & well done to TM & the players. It’s not a disgrace as some are saying, but i don’t get why the players are tired and need to go home, what would they have done if we’d been in the play-offs?!!
Shame on you all. Albion fans wont forget this now go on your 10 weeks holiday, and forget the most loyal fans you will ever play in front of
Well this demonstrates admirably the contempt football players have for their fans these days, as long as the fans keep paying up, and the players can get their telephone numbers salaries, then the fans can go and whistle, they just don’t count to these prima donna rich kids.
I would like to see the fans boycott the first 3 home games, then lets see what happens, also they should pay these players on results, not pay them if they win or lose, only then will they have respect for their loyal fans.
Jim of Bearwood
Firstly congratulations to the team & and club on winning the Championship, now congratulations to Jeremy Peace for 2 own goals in the space of 48 hours!Firstly the decision not to beam back the QPR game to the Hawthorns when the previous week Stoke City managed to beam back there final away game at Colchester,i am really amazed that the club missed an opportunity make more money from there supporters, now of course the 2nd OG no open top bus parade. It has taken the club 88 years to win a divisional title, when will the next one be?For a club that supposedly respects its supporters all i can say is thank you Mr Peace for another PR disaster!
well done boys, but it’s a shame they arn’t letting the fans cellebrate their success with them, we work alot more days for a hell of a lot less. it’s an aufull mistake.
DISCUSTED!!!!! WE PAY THERE WAGES AND THEY CANT TAKE 2 HOURS OUT OF THERE TIME TO SHOW US THE CUP, VERY VERY UNHAPPY !!!!!!!!!!!
Took the edge of a great few days really think its unfair on those who were unable to be at qpr!!It would have been a fitting end to a great season !! Mr Peace lets himself down again when it comes to pr !!
I am glad in a way, because the civic reception & celebrations would have taken place at The Kremlin in Oldbury, not in West Bromwich. The football team is WEST BROMWICH Albion NOT OLDBURY Albion. Why should the Labour Party get any kudos from the local football teams success, when they have let the town of West Bromwich decline into a third world backwater. The town would disappear without trace if it was not for the success and prestige the Albion give the town. The council is a disgrace and should get of its backside to make the town a place to be proud, just like the football team.
I’ve no complaints - the true fans we’re at the games that mattered. I don’t see the point of putting a parade on for those that don’t go. Maybe a few more should get a season ticket and see what the rest of us have been entertained with. In any case, we’re probably saving this sort of celebration for a UEFA cup winning effort in the next two seasons - what a team!
42 HAPPY BAGGIE …That include you too
If West Bromwich Albion only want to celebrate promotion with the lucky fans that were at either southampton or QPR how does this look to fans like myself who have been season tickets holders for years but was unable to have one this years for financial reasons and other commitments like a one year old son? But still managed to scrape a handfull of matches regardless. I think it’s an own goal by them IMO because how are they going to pull in the crowds if thats the way they treat potential future ticket holders. Rant Over BOING BOING BAGGIES BAGGIES STILL LOVED THIS SEASON ALTHOUGH I DID LISTEN TO MOST OF IT ON THE RADIO!!!! Still hope to see you all next year in the Prem when I’ve scraped enough pennies for me season tickets. UP THE BAGGIES!!!!!
Well that say’s it all or in other words up yours our players are tired, di dum,di dum.shows what they think of the fan’s.
the good the bad and the ugly …..
GOOD MANAGER , GOOD SEASON , GOOD CHAMPIONS
BAD PLANNING , BAD DECISION , BAD PR , BAD TASTE
UGLY END
…PEACE ALL OVER !
We await the sequel Mr Peace …. lets hope you invest this time around
Mr. Peace - this is a PR disaster. Your manager was at pains to emphasise the links between the club and its supporters. What do you call this ?
i agree with most of the fans the papers & telly have been very poor stoke have been all over the news tonight had to turn it over in the end anybody would think they had won the league!!!! was really looking forward to the paraded so was my two children think its a disgrace it wouldnt hurt them to give up one night for us fans who are so proud of being champions!!!!
Such a selfish decision by the club, I wonder who’s idea it was then? we would have all liked to see you in all your glory parading your well earned prize, A dissapointed local. jong W.F.C.
shame when you follow your home town club you only get days like this now and again or as in the case of the dingles never!
A great season ended by the Albion performaing heir usual PR Gaffe. I can’t see how a ride on a bus from the ground to the council house can be seen as particularly taxing for fit young footballers. Why do they do such stupid things?
53,BOMBER COUNT ME IN MATE BOING BOING
Bomber sorry to break this to ya mate but she’s really a dingle, we found her here in the Golden Palace and she was telling us about all the suffering she’d had to go through before finally realizing that she was really a dingle at heart, years of pain but now she’s come out of the closet she feels much better! it’s the passionate desire to watch Mighty Mick’s Golden warriors every week that she just couldn’t resist anymore.
Sorry mate!
What a disgrace! Most fans have not been able to see the cup. The players need to remember without the fans where would their wages come from? We have travelled to London for them but they can’t spare a few hours for us. As for foreign players needing to go home, they choose to play for WBA and should remember the fans. A PR disgrace from a team that prides itself on a family atmosphere. I wonder how many disappointed children there are!
How can the baggies not celebrate winning the league and being champions, when we won the cup in 54 and 68 we celebrated , why not in 2008 when it has been 88years since we won a league and become champions. It should be better to win the league in this day and age than to win the cup, so get your finger out J-P and show the fans some loyalty. If STOKE can do it fore finishing second why cant the baggies
The right decision. Just like the feeling when we won at Wembley in 93, it was a good feeling but come on, we shouldn’t be over celebrating getting out of a division that we shouldn’t have been in in the 1st place.
Nice people you have playing for your club. Couldn’t even spare an evening for all the loyal fans; a lot of disapointment caused, especially to the kids. Shows what utter contempt they hold you all in. (All fans are seen as just another source of income.) I think the Premiership has gone to the Albion players heads already and they’ve not kicked a ball there yet.
A very sour taste in my mouth, not our fault only 3000 tickets for QPR, couldn’t even arrange a big screen at the Hawthorns!
Another let down by the board glad enough to take our money for season tickets though before we knew which league were in!!!
Dammed disgusted it looks like they are going to be counting the coppers again and won’t spend any money tight fisted sods.
Its been 40 years since we lifted a trophy and now the Albion deny all the loyal supporters a thank you for supporting them and the Players. Not everyone could get to the last couple of games.
While I’m on my soap box Jeremy Peace and Tony Mobray should give Super Kev a 2 Year contract it’s the least they could do for a fantastic player who has been Loyal to the Albion Cause and helped you get Promoted. Plus he has scored almost 50 Goals in 2 seasons in the process, where are your loyalties towards Kevin Philips. One Loyal but very disgruntled supporter since 1964.
I must say that Stoke has gained more national coverage for finishing second than Albion have for winning the title. I just caught a brief glimpse of the trophy and the backs of the Albion players at QPR on Sky. For some unknown reason coverage of Champions Albion has been second best.
Have not even seen an interview with TM or any of the players over here. And now no formal street parade??? Bit of a dull finish to what has been an excellent achievement.
Notice most days we get 20-30 posts on a subject tops, but when we got a subject come up that does’nt appease the eye, nearly 100 posts, where are all you when things are good, many names on here never show up, but your all so quick to jump on the “we hate Jeremy Peace bandwagon”.
Fanatstic season Baggie’s, fantastic job JP & TM.
PROUD TO BE A BAGGIE!!!
i not very happy with no parade i am one off the fans that coundnt get to the matches due work, just a few hours us fans and players to celerbrate a fantastic season, but the old boys at the albion would rather take a holiday instead they want to remember who pays the wages its us fans we want somthing in return.all over the news and papers its stoke this and stoke that we are the champions wres our coverage.
73.
SBBA coming on here posing as a Baggie and calling himself TESCOCARRIERBAG. Could it be the first sign of a defection to a big premier league club?
Must agree with 95 Tony. Where were all these names during the season? Could they be our missing Premier league fans resurfacing? If so welcome back but don’t come back moaning. Let’s look forward and congratulate the Chairman, the manager, the players, the staff and the loyal fans on a job well done at what has been a united club.
Well done, Peace be with you!!!!
I think the decision was made because he couldn’t face seeing all thos blokes name TERRY.
He also realised it will only be a short lived situation and being a SMALL CLUB you really can’t afford it with petrol and diesel being the price it is now!!! Kegworth can’t afford it, Happy can’t afford to come from Sutton and Terry from Walsall wouldn’t know what it was all about anyway DOH!!!
96: baggie fletch
You stated you cannot get up the games due to work, then you state where’s your money gone?
You can surely answer that yourself, don’t suppose it’s got anything to do with the Albion.
Look forward to next season reacquainting myself with my seat in the Smethwick End
Did anyone go and see Stokes Parade it was very good!! it was on most of the news channles… I cant wait for the baggies Parade… “WHAT NO PARADE??? oh dear… Surely they can rustle up a canal barge??!!!
I remember when you only had a parade if you won the fa cup, euro cup or old 1st div. This is all out of proportion. We have achieved promotion nothing else, the tin pot title of the old 2nd division meant nothing 20 years ago and still means nothing now. I am a season ticket holder of more than thirty years and as everyone knows have had to sit through some real dross through the years. this season has been one of the most entertaining ever. I even missed out on the southampton game because of sky moving it and being unable to change work commitments. I am not bitter about the lack of a parade. who wants to stand outside the council house in Oldbury (not West Bromwich). Lets not forget Sandwell council painted its new council buildings Claret and Blue. I for one am not upset at not cheering at anyone standing at a building that reminds me of Aston Villa.
Nice comment number 98
I will take a wild stab here…….are you a Wolves fan ?
We are one season wonders ?……..maybe
you can only aspire to be that.
102.
Oh thank you for those kind words.
And NO to your second comment.
My team are an ESTABLISHED Premier division side, sorry to disappoint you.
Just a little word in your ear get used to the word DISAPPOINTMENT.
OK
Then may i assume Villa ?
my first guess given you`re comment, had Wolves fan stamped all over it.
I have been a Baggies fan for over 40 years,
i am no stranger to disappointment.
104. Wrong again.
It won’t be a problem next season then!
Pity we cannot enjoy the moment a bit longer with a well deserved title but I can appreciate that the team and all the staff need time to re-group after a tough mental task to give us the joy and pride we feel right now. Thanks lads for digging in at the end and getting the points that secure the premiership for next season and the finances to help progress the club. Given all the coverage Stoke have had their fall from the top flight will be harder to bear.
Boing Boing Baggies
105 - you must be really proud of your club as you hide behind a stupid name and refuse to disclose who you support…
As Villa are the only established prem club in these parts you are either a) from out the area - in which case, your opinion doesn’t count so buzz off. B) a deluded blue nose c) a Man Utd / chelsea (insert name of current “glamour” club) fan - & again your opinion is worthless here.
Hate these plonkers who come on here trying to be clever but won’t admit who they support. Could One seasonwonders be another guise of Terrymidlandfootballfan, it has all the same hallmarks. Says he supports established prem team but not Villa. In that case who? This rules out any other midland club so what are you doing on here?
You are sir I suggest, a liar and a scoundrel.
And you lot call us moaners. Liked the comment re number of posts usually on your pages. That’s because you’re always on our pages making inane comments. Tell you what I’ll paint an egg cup on the 74 bus and you can all stand in the bus station cheering your heroes.
Personally I think it’s sensible with the price of fuel.
Where has Terrymidlandfootballfan gone last couple of days, could’nt he keep catching the fish in these waters like our TerryChampionbaggie does quite regular, my guess he’s changed his alias…welcome one season wonders!!!
107.108 & 110. Tuched a nerve the have I? Keep guessing cause you still ain’t got it right.
May I also ask what right do you have in telling me to keep off your site? As far as stupid comments are concerned I have over the past few years read many pathetically stupid posts from Happy, Terry, Worcester,Real Bully and the like, it is little wonder Mr Peace doesn’t want to be associated with these plonkers!!
Please tell us who you support - we are all dying to know… i for one can’t sllep till I find out.
Or..
Who cares - you are a muppet.
The locals would only get scared and confused by the sight of a bus, or as they call them ‘ the great metal dragons’.
Shame about no parade an civic reception but with amount of foreign players that want to get to there families and have some qaulity time fair enough.
Have to say though IF it had gone ahead what is the obsession with Oldbury town centre.
Which at the best of times is a ghost town and has its own team in Oldbury United would Wolves hold a reception in bilston ?
You bet your life they would not or in Willenhall not on your nelly so why oldbury who have no association all year with the baggies.
West Bromwich has a town hall and also Dartmouth Park surely that would have been better far more room for fans .
They already have everything ready for the historic cars this weekend in two days marked out an tents put up arenas pegged.
So when the council want to do some thing they can so for future reference hopefully lets not here oldbury for any reception for
WEST BROMWICH ALBION F.C.
KEEP IT IN WEST BROMWICH PROUD TO BE A BAGGIE
