Grass Roots Football LIVE is Britain’s biggest and best football event. Over 15,000 people are expected to flock to the NEC for the three-day football spectacular from Friday May 30 to Sunday June 1.A host of leading managers, coaches and players will be in attendance - with headline ambassadors including Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp, former England manager Graham Taylor, ex Blues legend Trevor Francis and Ray Wilkins.
An interactive Academy Experience zone will be run in association with the Premier League and the Football League, and offer an area where youngsters can take part in a 15-minute training session.
Leading English professional soccer coaches will also be running masterclasses in The MARS Stadium and the Errea Coaches Arena.
The Express & Star has joined forces with the organisers to offer one lucky winner the chance to put together their own five-a-side team to take on the professionals.
Stan Collymore has formed his own celebrity five-a-side team, the Mavericks, which includes himself as player-manager, Paul Merson, Neville Southall, Ray Parlour, Steve Claridge and Jamie Lawrence.
The winner of our competition gets to pull their own team together from family and friends to make up a squad of seven to play against the Mavericks. This will take place on Saturday May 31 in front of the crowds on the main Arena pitch.
Our winning squad must be able to get themselves to the NEC, have their own strip and trainers suitable to play inside on astroturf, be capable of taking part in a game of 10 minutes each way and pitch themselves against some of these great names from the past. Do note, all entrants and players must be aged 18 or over.
