16.54: Final whistle. Blues will not have their fate in their own hands. They could beat Blackburn at home next weekend and still go down. Alex McLeish will be rallying his men this week but the players will be very, very nervous. Send us your comments.
16.51: Spurs have beaten Reading, who will join Blues in the bottom three.
16.48: Erik Nevland makes it 2-0 to the home side.
16.45: Spurs keeper Cerny has made a couple of superb saves to keep it 1-0 at Reading, leaving Steve Coppell’s men on course for the bottom three.
16.37: Forssell replaced by Cameron Jerome.
16.35: Clint Dempsey heads over for Fulham.
16.20: Mauro Zarate is on now for Olivier Kapo.
16.16: As things stand, it is Fulham who will be out of the bottom three. Blues get a further warning as Kamara dribbles past four or five tackles before slicing his shot wide of the target from six yards.
16.14: Jimmy Bullard sends over a free-kick from the left and Brian McBride is at the far post to score with his head.
16.05: Franck Queudrue is on for Liam Ridgewell.
15.46: Half time at Reading with Spurs ahead.
15.45: Blues are in the ascendancy. Aaron Hughes clears with Mikael Forssell set to pull the trigger.
15.35: Few chances as both sides fail to make a killer pass.
15.25: Spurs have had a legitimate goal ruled offside - could that be costly for Blues?
15.20: Spurs take the lead at Reading through Robbie Keane. If Blues get a point and things stay the same, they are out of the bottom four on goal difference.
15.10: McBride heads against the bar but he was offside. Then Taylor saves from former Spurs and Everton midfielder Simon Davies, following a free kick. No goals in the other relegation games.
15.02: Action gets under way at Craven Cottage.
14.45: Alex McLeish names an unchanged side from the Liverpool game. Here are the line-ups:

I’m gutted. Very poor result. We can only hope if we beat Blackburn next week that other results go our way.
It’s not looking too good, but stranger things have happened. Only time will tell.
I’m tired of us losing important games. I’m tired of feeling depressed most Saturdays. Yesterdays’ papers carried comments from players whose ‘up and at ‘em’ attitude STILL filled me with hope and inspiration despite all that’s happened over recent weeks. Now look what’s happened. I’m beginning to think that Championship level football will give McLeish the chance to build another team who do not talk a good game but play one.
Historically, all 3 Brum clubs do not play in the same division. 2/3, yes; but all three, no.
Once it was obvious (weeks ago) your minnow third club would be promoted, you were effectively down and just marking time until the formalities were over. There was, simply, nothing you could do about it.
Blame the stripey lot down the road (and the vanilla fudgers for not being below you in the table).
Oh, yes. And your owners for disgracefully sacking Steve Bruce.
Good luck for next season.
