New home kit to be unveiled

wd583154shirt-nb-5.jpgWolves will unveil their new home kit tonight after signing a new two-year, seven-figure sponsorship deal with sportswear manufacturers, Le Coq Sportif. But the new deal means changes every year now in both the home and away strips.

The club will show off the new home kit at tonight’s end of season awards dinner.

The new design will also be paraded around the pitch before Sunday’s final  game of the season against Plymouth.

As part of the deal, Le Coq, who have produced Wolves’ strips for the last four years, will produce a new home and away kit every year.

The new away kit will be launched later in the summer. Wolves have frozen the prices for the new design, which will be on sale from May 16 with adult home shirts costing £40 and juniors £30.

And, until the end of the month, fans who buy a new adult home shirt can have a child’s shirt or mini kit for half price.

Chief executive Jez Moxey said: “The feedback on Wolves -Le Coq Sportif has been very positive. We’ve sold record numbers of replica shirts and associated products during the agreement.”

Wolves have used the Fans’ Parliament to get an input from supporters on the new strip and Moxey added: “I’m sure supporters will be happy with the look.

“Following on from feedback from supporters, one of the changes for next season is the socks, which will revert back to old gold in colour from the current mainly black design.”

And he defended the annual changes that will follow saying: “For a number of years now, many football clubs have changed their home and away strips every season and we’ve taken the step to alter our policy and follow suit.

Pre-orders can be made from tomorrow.

They may have frozen the prices but it’s still £40 / £80 per year per person !! (assuming they freeze the price each year that is !!). I can’t help feeling that’s asking a lot - especially those with families.

    1. freddy saga
    2. mccarthy coming out with more clever ways to wind up the fans
    3. some idiot average wolves player saying ” we believe we’ll get in playoffs and we’ll keep believing”

I wonder if changing the strip so often is one of the reasons there is not so much pride in them these days? doubt it though , most playes dont care what the kit loks like so long as the cash keeps rolling in!

  14. wolveswolves said:

Another rip off. At the moment the club should be looking at giving something back to the fans not fleecing them out of more money.
But then again they have to recoup the money from lost season ticket sales caused by Micks poor selection policies.

    Someone asked what happens if we are level on points and goals scored after Sunday;

9 Method of Determining League Positions

9.1 At the end of each Season the Club in each Division scoring the highest number of points shall be declared the Champion Club of that Division. Three points shall be awarded for each League Match won. One point will be awarded to each Club for a drawn match. If two or more Clubs have scored the same number of points their position in the Division shall be determined on goal difference, that is to say, the difference between the total number of goals scored by and against a Club in League Matches in that Season, and the higher or highest placed Club shall be the Club with the higest goal difference. If any two or more Clubs have scored the same number of points and have the same goal difference the higher or highest placed Club shall be the Club having scored the most goals in League Matches that Season.

9.2 If two or more Clubs have the same number of points, goal difference and goals scored the highest placed Club shall be determined by the respective League records against each other, taking into account in order of precedence, points gained, goal difference and goals scored. If the above procedures do not separate the Clubs, then the Clubs concerned shall play off a deciding League Match or Matches under arrangements approved by the Board on a neutral ground. The net gate money after deducting the usual match expenses shall be equally divided between the two competing Clubs. Any Club staging such a play-off match shall be entitled to charge as an expense against the receipts of the match 10% of the gross gate receipts after deduction of Value Added Tax. In the event of such a match being arranged by the Board to be played on the ground of a Club which is not a member of The League, then a similar charge as an expense against the receipts of the match shall be paid by The League who shall otherwise be responsible for the financial arrangements made with the Club staging the match. These provisions shall determine the ranking of Clubs in their respective Divisions.

The ‘chaucer’ logo looks a load better. Is there a tight fitting one and a loose fitted or is it just the way they’ve hung them?

  20. Daz said:

who else changes their shirt every season cause i am struggling to think of anyone, the last couple of shirts have been rubbish anyway with no new ideas behind them. at least in the good old days when you got a shirt you knew it would be for 2 seasons at least that this point in time whats the reason for buying one when in 6 months time its out of date

  21. m said:

I think it is unfair on supports to have to purchase a new strip each new season. I think il wait for the january sale when the new strip will be half price or less. If fans don’t purchase the strip then wolves would have no choice but to go back to their old arrangement of a strip to last 2 seasons.

  22. Dave Maiden said:

Is it me or does it look like the wolves hexagonal crest on the away kit could be black and flourecent yellow?

  23. terrypremierbaggie said:

is the new shirt waterproof so you can dry your tears on it sunday boing boing

  24. shatpankwolves said:

ahwell ill be pre-ordering mine tomorrow, rarely buy the away kit anyway so not fussed about that!!

  25. Baggie Boy said:

16.. Well its a good job we are not in that league anymore then isn’t it

  26. OG&B4L said:

    It’s quite simple.

Supporters don’t have to buy every kit that comes out. If you want to, you can. If you don’t, then you are under no obligation to do so.

Don’t worry about not having the latest kit. About 1 in 5 people at molineux still wear that big Nutmeg jacket!

  27. spiritualwolf said:

For Lord’s sake, no-one ever HAS to buy a new kit each year! Are we all such sheep that we can’t resist the new shirts???? It’s only a rip-off if we let it be a rip off….

I quite like the look of the kit though…

  28. wolf-brainer said:

the away kits are always a bit of a novelty. i think i will buy one of the home retro kits like the manders one.

Anyone care to make me an offer?

  34. baggie 9 said:

Brummie Rob we are also having new shirts and sponsers one logo we are having on the shirt is the premmier badge.

  35. Pertonian Wolf said:

I thought under league rules, you were not allowed to change your kit more frequently than every 2 seasons to stop clubs trying to make extra money like this. they got around it with the away kit by having it become the 3rd kit the following season. I like the look of this new one but hope i don’t have to pay another £40 this time next season too.

Good luck for sunday lads!! Do us proud!!

  40. Essex Wolf said:

Frozen the prices at £40?! They should be reducing them as they’re only good for one season! Don’t England shirts retail at around £25? £40 for one season, what a rip off. Only hope that it’s a season spent in the Prem or at very least our last season in the Championship!

  41. Steway said:

Joe, can’t you see that you’re just playing into their hands by reacting? They were obviously hating no reaction cos every couple of posts the same couple of blokes put almost exactly the same thing. Just leave them to it, I couldn’t give a toss about them, concentrate on our lot and not them mate.
