Rangers cut ticket prices

Stafford Rangers’ board has cut match day admission prices following relegation from the Blue Square Premier.

Rangers announced the cut before the final league game at home to Droylesden on Saturday.

Admission to home games in either the Blue Square North or South will be £11 for adults, down £1 on the last two seasons.

Season ticket prices have also been slashed from £280 to £250.

The concession admission is down from £8 to £7. Under-18s will pay £5 and children aged 12 and under, accompanied by a paying adult, get in free. 

The concession rate will be applicable for full-time students and armed forces personnel on production of relevant ID cards. 

Transfer to the main stand remains at £2. 

Boro’ recorded only their fifth win of the season in the final game.

The 2-1 victory over Droylesden with goals by veteran striker Neil Grayson and Nick Wellecomme, ensured they finished second bottom of the league, above the visitors by one point.

They avoided conceding a century of league goals for the season by just one goal.

Secretary Mike Hughes said: “To all fans, thank you for your continued support, and we hope to see you all back here next season, which commences on Saturday August 9.” 

The club will again be offering a discount on season tickets purchased before the end of June. Ground and stand: adult is £250,  £225 if purchased before June 30; concessions £173 (£155); ground only, adult £210 (£190); concessions £133 (£120).

Vice presidents’ membership for 2008-2009 will cost £450. 

Everyone attending Saturday’s home game was able to buy a home shirt from the club shop for £5.

The Shareholders’ AGM will be held tonight at 8pm in the Social Club in Astonfields Road.

Supporters have voted Rangers goalkeeper Danny Alcock as their player of the season.

Alcock also received manager Steve Bull’s player of the season award.
