Inquiry on postie over mail

A postman has been suspended following allegations of mail going missing, it has emerged.

It is feared hundreds of houses in West Bromwich and Oldbury could have been affected, with concerns raised over the whereabouts of several weeks worth of post.

Royal Mail spokeswoman Jane Thomas confirmed that an investigation was being carried out, but said details of the case could not be revealed until the inquiries had been completed.

The employee is based at the West Bromwich delivery office and is thought to have been responsible for covering a patch around the border of West Bromwich and Oldbury.
