VILLA

Villa boss Martin O’Neill is lining up a £5m move for Chelsea’s Steve Sidwell after conceding skipper Gareth Barry may leave this summer.

Villa defender Danny Earls has been released from his contract by mutual consent.

Villa are ready to take on Newcastle in a £250,000 tussle for Bournemouth striker Sam Vokes, 18.

WOLVES

Everton boss David Moyes was in the crowd at Molineux last night. Was he watching keeper Wayne Hennessey?

ALBION

Striker Kevin Phillips will leave the Baggies to join either Wigan or Derby on a free transfer after rejecting a new pay deal.

SADDLERS

On-loan winger lee Holmes is unlikely to extend his stay at The Banks’s Stadium at the end of the season.

The club are, of course, starting their search for a new manager following yesterday’s resignation of Richard Money.

Nah, he just likes Wolves :)

  4. DudzieWolf said:

I thought KP wanted to have another crack at the Premier League with WBA, he must have misquoted himself.

I hope Moyes was watching McCarthy as an assistant, I can always dream on. Wayne will be gone in the summer as will SEB, Kites and Freddie. Will need to rebuild AGAIN, and if we are gonna rebuild may as well do it with a new manager

  5. W.B.A.44 said:

Why do we always let our best players down Kev wants a 2 year contract G.P offers 1 now Kev is going to leave after all the hard work he has put in for the Baggies, well done G.P it just goes to show what you think of our players, you old tight fist.

  6. WOLVESTILIDIE said:

  7. terrystilltopbaggie said:

6 WILFS,if he goes to derby he will be back to haunt you agen next season boing boing

  8. wolveswolves said:

When clubs like Villa can’t hold onto their best players what chance do teams like our have. Wayne will be gone if we don’t get promoted.
I hope we can keep most of the other gems.

  9. Southbank S5 said:

Bye bye super kev….derby….more like sandwell retirement home for the elderly.

  10. Southbank S5 said:

Moyes waws watchin Collins ha ha ha ha

  11. S*U*P*E*R said:

Hennessey played well yet again last night. The boy needs to sort his kicking though!

If he has one fault, it’s that he doesn’t give the ball to the full backs enough. I can count on my one hand how many headers Keogh won last night

  12. nige wolf said:

moyes is free to go and watch whoever he likes and to ask about any players availability, wether he is sold is down to the club and player, i think hennessy would rather play first team for wolves than warm the bench at goodison, hes a level headed chap, he’ll know at 20 yr old he wont play 1st team

  13. wolveswolves said:

    11) Fair point but I don’t think we really have the full backs who will be able to distribute the ball consistently.

  14. Wbaforever said:

This statement about KP is just journalistic licence, or sports page sensationalism.

Radio WM, has it`s finger on the midlands football pulse, and there has been no mention of
    KP`s contract,
and was it not just last week, that an official
announcement from the club stated that ANY contract talks would be thrashed out when the season finishes.

  15. brummie rob wolves said:

It’s probably not paper talk. Phillips and Bednar on their way! Still you’ve got Luke Moore.
I can’t stand Moxey but your board have been a disgrace for years. You’ve got money to come off Davies and money if you get promoted and yet you won’t reward your one class player in the Championship. Admittedly at his age he would struggle in the Premiership but his goals deserve a decent contract!

  16. bungwolf said:

Good result last night how significant will that Miller’s goal be. Keep the faith, Hull to beat Palace. Oh if theres anybody out there in recruitment can you get Terrysoftbaggie (1,2,7) a job he’s got too much time on his hands he;s on every site i visit spouting his trash i’m sure some supermarket needs their trollies collected.

  17. Super Kev said:

    15.

    I know what you mean.£299 for a season ticket,kids for a quid,free away travel….such a disgraceful board.

Now off you pop and go and moan about Mad Mick.Oh no wait a minute…you won last night so he must be the saviour again today.

  18. ALBIONMATT said:

another load of lazy journalism by the express and dingle.this romour is already on the newsnow page and someone has copied what was printed.just like wbaforever says -there was a statement last week to say nothing was going to be said until the season has finished.boinging all the way to the prem.

  19. Wulf said:

$%*^! OFF MOYES! Tell him there are other clubs with decent players who need the money! I wouldn’t even let other managers in to watch!, We stoped scouts going to training ground a while back so just tell them NO!

  20. rowley,wolves said:

i hope it is hennesey he wants & not seb or kites, because IF he is fit murray is better & if not there are quite a few goalies around, who are as good as most of the goalies above us in the table, but the other two can not be replaced.

  21. michael said:

    17.
    oooh bit touchy are we.

  22. SuperMaths said:

KP story from the Sun - must be true!!!
    Lol!

He’ll still be a Baggies this time next season - you mark my words!

  23. terrystilltopbaggie said:

16,rob,i think you should worry about your own board dont you,i cant really see how you can comment as nobody knows the ins n outs,at least our chairman watches us when we play, boing boing

  24. rowley,wolves said:

17,super kev.exactly, you have to charge such cheap prices or you would have crowds like preston or burnley, thats your level as a club & thats why you could never charge the prices we charge, you’ll never be bigger enough.

  25. leethebaggiebeater said:

ref 2 at wolves we pay full price for ourtickets not £1

  26. mart said:

i reckon he was there to watch ebanks blake

  27. BoingBoing666 said:

to be fair if KP wants to leave, which i cant really see happening anyway, then all the best to him, his been a fantastic boost for us this season and i’d be more than happy to see him become the talisman for another club wanting to get into the Prem. I wouldnt even begrudge him moving to Wolves.

But as mentioned above, sports page sensationalism.

  28. BoingBoing666 said:

    brummie rob wolves

got your confidence back now after you win have you?
pity you couldnt appear yesterday day time with all this knowledge and wisdom of yours…or were you hiding until a win.

  29. Newdale Wolf said:

Were not proud we will give KP his 2 year deal he is after. KP & SEB sounds full of goals to me. If we don’t make it this season, we’ll pass you tesco’s coming down next season, with KP playing for us in the prem!!!!

  30. Super Kev said:

21.Michael - haven’t heard from you since about 7.30pm last Tuesday ….I wonder why ???

24.Rowley - my dad’s bigger than yours….yawn , yawn.Funny you should mention Preston and Burnley as you will be playing them next season. You will have to remind me what their grounds are like…I would have forgot by then.

  31. Cyril Randle said:

Stop and think please! We need ONE point from two matches to get up. Wolves can still make the play-offs. Now how do you get our supporters angry, edgy, spitting feathers, blaming the Board? PRINT A BELIEVABLE RUMOUR! KP said he was leaving his contract until he knew which division we will be in next season.
Both stories cannot be right. UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL. DON’T LISTEN, PLEASE!!! Monday evening is a big one, stay focussed.

  32. Colley Gate Wolf said:

Newsflash to all you Tesco lot. This isn’t gossip from a mate of a mate or knowing somebody in the ticket office who slept with a secretary in the conference office, this is 100% reliable…KP has every intention of staying and Peace has every intention of keeping him on but they’re holding off talks on the finishing touches to the contract till the seasons done and dusted

  33. brummie rob wolves said:

    28) I was on here yesterday talking how bad Luke Moore is. We are not gloating. I have been going for over 35 years and seen the worst ie Chorley(Fa Cup) and best ie Notts Forest(League Cup).
Let’s just say that you all love it when there is moaning about Moxey, MM and booing. Yet it happens, exectly the same at your place.

  34. baggie brookie said:

come on albion comment on this story about k/p and put all of us to rest you know what the express and dingle are like for spreading rumours about the baggis

  35. we8wba said:

why wolves fans saying kp to old?

i would love him at molineux next season, unlikely i know but so what he is still class act in this league

  36. Top of the league said:

Yes it was The Sun the most trust worthy daily comic there is.Can see why all the Wolves fans are picking up on this the paper has got lots of pictures and does not tax there reading skills too much.

  37. Happy_baggie said:

This is not an E&S story so no blame can be attached to them - but it is very weird.

As has been pointed out - KP has made it clear that he will resume talks once the footy is over. Im sure that should we fail to agree a deal with him he will go - but all parties have previously indicated that there is NOT a problem.

I think we are the best prospect for him football wise and with the millions coming in should we go up, then wages should not be a huge issue.

According to The Sun (?) its us or Derby….. LOL

  38. CraztD said:

Moyes will be impressed–£7,000,000 plus much better than GORDON

  39. Wolves9 said:

Strange isn’t it how if one of player’s get linked with a switch it’s true. If an Albion one does it’s paper talk. Now i’m saying KP is going and I think it could be talk. But all i’m saying is it’s strange how some Albion fans think any talk about us is true, but not about their team.

  40. Wolves9 said:

Apologies 39 should say i’m not saying KP is going and could be talk.

  41. Happy_baggie said:

wolves9 - the difference is that Moyes was in your ground last night - that puts a bit more weight behind the speculation doesn’t it.

Basically, none of us know whats going on - thats why we all speculate here every day.

  42. Wolves9 said:

Not just talking about today’s gossip.

  43. shatpankwolves said:

if phillips is allowed to leave then im sorry that is scandalous behaviour from the baggies board, ok he’s 34? but still a good finisher and ok prob wont start many games for you next season but a awesome impact player for 20-30mins before the end.
just give him the 2 year contract,
if he does go SEB,Keogh and Phillips mmmmmm has a nice sound to it lol

  44. BaggieNinja said:

CGW (32) is probably spot on. There are bound to be clubs interested in KP (probably most of the Championship) but KP has revived his career at the Albion and would love to stay I’m sure. But it’s all about money…. we could only offer two years at Championship money if he signs now, but if he waits for us to get into the Prem (hopefully) he can probably expect an extra £10,000 per week for two years which Albion could easily afford if in the Prem. It really isn’t rocket science!

  45. HappyTerryfromWorces said:

I see Phillips wants to go to a BIGGER club then!!!

  46. HappyTerryfromWorces said:

    17. My God how times change!!

  47. HappyTerryfromWorces said:

    14. Not so long ago you said radio WM stood for a waste of money. How strange!!

  48. Rob-wbafc said:

If Phillips is only in it for the money, then ship him out like the other Judas’ last year. But if he genuinly just wants the assurance of a 2 year contract, give it to him!! He can still score goals in the prem. That stuff about Bednar is rubbish, he loves it here and were going up, why would he leave? See we can keep our best players because we have a future, Wolves fans take note

  49. dazzabagie said:

kevin phillips wont get 20 goals in the premier and our chairman wont pay him 20 grand to come off the bench for last twenty minutes in most games . i dont blame the charman at all .

    daz

  50. Matt@Wolves said:

Being a Wolves supporter, you have to admire what WBA have done KP has been a good servant to you and he deserves a 2year contract.

As for us I don’t think we will be selling our key players (unless we are offered a deal to good to turn down).

If we don’t go up next season, I think they will go.

As a football fan this has been one of the best seasons for a long time so close at the top great competion!

    yeah definately a bit touchy,
been on here a bit since tuesday.
its you lot who we dont here from when you lose.

  52. Wbaforever said:

I cannot ever recall saying WM stood for a waste
    of money,
on the contrary, i think their coverage of the regions clubs is first class.

Where you are misquoting me, is that i said
Tony Butler is a confrontational buffoon.

  53. Baggie Boy said:

32… 100% correct the deal will be done once(if) promotion is secured

  54. paddymo4 said:

just to jump in your seemingless banter like a few of you did on the walsall manager post both wba and wolves are crap dont matter wich one of you go up or even both of you will be back down again just as quick just like a bad porn flick up and down up and down get my drift

  55. HappyTerryfromWorces said:

54 How abut this one. You put the Boggies in you put the Boggies out. IN OUT IN OUT thats what they are all about.
Oh the BOINGING BOGGIES Oh the BOINGING BOGGIES

  56. Happy_baggie said:

54 - I think what worries me most when I read posts like yours, is that there is a possibility that we may one day drive a car on the same bit of road at the same time…. or that you will one day be responsible for another person, maybe a child. You may already be able to drive or operate heavy machinery..

God help me, but you may be my bank manager or financial advisor (although I’m guessing I’m safe with that those).

I read comments like yours, and just wonder at the thought process that went into it..

I find things like this quite scary.

  57. Rob 9 said:

Supa Kev - read Supa Bob a few years ago. Bob wanted 2 year deal & we offered 1. He went to Bolton on double the money we offered. We said he was too old for a 2 year deal. Then we bought him back again nearly 2 years on and gave him 2 (might even have been 3) year contract. Lets not do the same again!!!

  58. paddymo4 said:

56 what worries me is by reading youre post you have a brain but then youre a baggies fan the two just dont go together

  59. WOLVESTILIDIE said:

What makes you think the everton boss was watching wolves players what about joe ledley for cardiff would love him down the wolves !!!!!

    33. BRW.
Congratulations. You’ve just been confirmed as the 50,000th Wolves fan to officially attend the Chorley game. You’ve won a brand new, srraight off the production line Austin Allegro.

  62. The Real Bully said:

    52. Forever.
Don’t just pick out his best points.

  63. Shopshirebaggie said:

I also think is is journalistic license, I think it’s totally dependant on what division we are in. He said wanted another crack at the prem, so I wouldn’t begrudge him a move if we don’t go up, frankly, I wouldn’t blame him.

We get these stories every year, Gera has supposed to have been leaving for the past 3 seasons and he’s still here.

Let’s forget about all this our club is better than your club. That’s a message to fans of Albion and Wolves, let’s judge at the end of the season.

THE JOB IS NOT DONE TILL WE HAVE THAT POINT!!!
