No need to be gung-ho says Kightly

kightlyceleb2.jpg

Comeback man Michael Kightly is desperate for success but believes Wolves don’t need to go ‘gung-ho’ in search of the vital win they need against Cardiff tonight.

Kightly, who is set for his first start in five months, believes Mick McCarthy’s men can make the play-offs – by not panicking.

“It’s a must-win but there isn’t any need to go all gung-ho,” said the winger.

“We didn’t do that against Ipswich – we had to be patient, and it’s about being professional and going about things in the right way.”

Kightly added: “We’ve just got to take things game by game, starting with tonight, and we’ve got to win them,” said Kightly.

“If we can do that, then perhaps we can put pressure on the teams above.

“Hull are playing Crystal Palace at the weekend, and both of those teams will be desperate to win. That will be a big game but first and

foremost we’ve got to win ours, because if we don’t then no other results will matter.” From Wolves’ perspective, Kightly says the dressing-room spirit is the best he’s known and he believes the players have the character to bounce back and reach the play-offs.

“The players here are all very good at lifting each other’s spirits,” he said.

“There are a lot of good characters around the club and when it’s needed the players will support each other.

“It’s the best team spirit I’ve known since I’ve been playing and that really helps us.

“We’ve got a young squad and we’re getting better, game by game. This time next year we’ll be even better.

“Sylvan’s made a great impact and he’s young, I’m still young, then there’s Andy Keogh and Kev Foley – there are loads of lads of that age and we’re all going to get better.”

For Kightly, the gruelling hours spent coming back from injury were some of the longest of his fledgling career.

“You never want to get injured but that’s

football,” he said. “You can never go through a career without picking something up. That’s the worst one I’ve had and hopefully it’s the last one for a long time. It’s been a frustrating one but thankfully I’m over it now.”

However Ipswich’s last-gasp heartbreak equaliser gave give him ‘the right hump’ with his mum. “My family had come up and when I got home on Saturday I was raging – I’d got the right hump! My mum was saying: ‘What’s the matter? You’re back playing again”, but I said: ‘I don’t care, I want to win’.

“I was disappointed not to have played recently, and then disappointed when I did – I can’t win! That apart I’m absolutely buzzing to be back and hoping to be part of the next three games and hopefully the next six.”

if wolves where more attack minded instead of playing the ball sideways then back side again then sideways again rubbish and make sure that they shoot instead of trying to wall it in theres no need for the players to come out and say so much rubbish mick and moxeycan not blame the fans for not getting behind the players you only have to look at each game and see how many fans are there the blame is soley on his n0 2 oconnor get rid of him and watch us improve

At this time of the season a team needs to be on a winning run, I dont see us doing that. We have already had 43 games to get a winning run going, its to late now, 3 games to go and we are not top 6 standard, that says it all!

We dont relish going through all that again next season its too harrowing, after all weve posted on here we finish clear of relegation so no excitement there either.

Richard Money would be perfect for the Wolves,he doesnt play players out of position, doesnt have his favourites, looks further afield than Sunderland, and is used to having the backing of a board with no ambition. Problem is the board at the Mol wouldnt have the vision or the guts to take him on board

how can the dressing room spirit is the best youve known, last season should of been the best?, youve got players who deserve to start or even a position on the bench ie rosa, eastwood, little, d jones, those youngsters who put in more than a shift last season. how do they feel when they see so called footballers, those muppet favourites regularly not performing throughout the season and still getting chosen. I would be totally p****d off. MM OUT, WE WANT MCCARTHY OUT SAY WE WANT MCCARTHY OUT. plus it will be interesting to see where morgan decides to attend tonight?

terryd1ckheadbaggie..why dont you get a job or something like normal people you’re always on here..and why do you take such an intrest in wolves..you comment on every single one of our pages you saddo..you really need to get out more..either that or you’re just an attention seeker..or both..
anyway..should scrape a win tonight but looking at things realistically, I think the playoffs are out of reach..palace are flying and wolves winning three games is a big ask..
hopefully mick will be out and we can bring in some quality players during the summer..if mccarthy goes, theres a good chance freddy will stay as well..
    2-1 tonight

Of the teams currently above us we have only won once [Palace away]. Says it all really. 9 points from 3 games and we might just sneak into the play-offs, but even that is unlikely [have we won 3 league games in a row all season?

Roll on next season, this one has been awful!

If Morgan has any integrity he will show up at the Molineux tonight. Its the perfect opportunity to show his commitment to Wolves & not Liverpool.

Think about Sir Jack’s commitment & how he’d go out of his way to show up.

Here’s a message for peter, muppetout, BigWolf, quality counts, LoyalCannockWolf, we8wba and the rest of you morons who are constantly bashing Wolves. GO AND SUPPORT ANOTHER TEAM, BECAUSE THE LIKES OF YOU DISGUST ME.
A 3-0 win with Kightly back and it’s still on. Even if we don’t go up we have at last got a 20+ goal a season striker in SEB.
None of our stars will be leaving in the summer and neither will MM. So you lot get a life or naff off and slag some other team. You’re not worthy of being called Wolves supporters.
